No way it was Rufus, Uke. I'm going with Joaquin Phoenix. Rai Poor Roof, once more he's been mixed up with someone else!!

What would he be doing on the F train? I am from NY and the F train ran by my house in Forest Hills, Queens all the way down to Wall Street. If the route hasn't been changed, it doesn't sound like anywhere Ruf would be apartment-hunting.
Love the scruff, though. Doesn't bother me a bit!

Two or three days beard on his face, battered jeans and boots and jacket, and unkempt hair… Hmmm .... some of us might LIKE that scruffy look on him! LOL. Etb, that's EXACTLY how I like him!! But Rai heard from the man himself on Monday, so I'm with Maxx - I reckon it was more likely to have been Ian McShane. I wouldn't mind betting the "unemployment beard" is coming back for a while, though.

Of course he would. Perhaps it was Tom Stoppard?

I think Tom is probably more likely to dress as an aging rock star than Rufus (because he sort of is) but a three day beard...

Oh, c'mon, surely he would be able to tell a 65 year old man from Rufus ;D SERIOUSLY! (Sorry Max, this word is approriate here!) But think about it, we heard that the shooting of Vinyan was going to be rather grueling, so it doesn't seem that far fetched to me that he might look a bit beat up, does it?

Of course he would. Perhaps it was Tom Stoppard? But he's even older than McShane!!

Is it possible for Roof to have been in NY for a day or two and then return to Thailand to finish shooting?? Wild hair and a beard would make sense if - in the film - he's supposed to be lost in the jungle and hunted by a ghost, etc.

Sorry GE2, I was taking the p*ss. If Rufus had spent 6 months in Alcatraz I'm sure he couldn't look as raddled as Ian McShane, and certainly not like Tom Stoppard. Could it just be a simple case of mistaken identity?

[What would he be doing on the F train? I am from NY and the F train ran by my house in Forest Hills, Queens all the way down to Wall Street. If the route hasn't been changed, it doesn't sound like anywhere Ruf would be apartment-hunting.] Back to the F train, it also runs straight through midtown Manhattan. I don't know how it works but I imagine since New York will be a temporary residence for him, real estate people might hook him up with an apartment to lease near where he'll be working. Though Park Slope, Brooklyn, would be a quieter, more residential spot, Rufus might just be looking to walk to work every day. He could have been looking at apartments within walking distance of Broadway and the F train runs straight through Manhattan, Rockefeller Center area, 53rd and Lexington Avenue, etc. etc.
