Does anyone know where to send birthday cards to Rufus in New York? I've got the name of his NY people somewhere, but I'm not sure I have an address which is probably why I've never put it up on the website. Why not send it to the theatre? He'll get it. Or you can send it to his LA agent or his UK agent. He'll get it there as well. Both of those addresses are on the website.

OK, I'm gonna actually do it! I'm going to NYC to see R&R and Rufus! I just decided on doing it last nite and I've been unbelievably excited all day...made my day at work such a joy for once. So far I'm planning on my 14 year old son and I taking a train from Altoona Pa to Penn Station on Feb 29th, probably staying at the Milford Plaza --location, location, location. Now, I'm not sure if we should go to the 2pm show or the 8pm show on saturday or maybe the 3pm show on sunday. What would ya'll do? Ok, I'm gonna plan in some tourist stuff too like the empire state building (my son's request) and a few museums that i've checked into and my son really wants to go to the today show which I think we'll do that monday morning before we have to take the train home. I'm looking into some restaurants too. Sardi's maybe or Carmine's. Ooo, how about a late knosh after the play at southside cafe. Allright, I need some help to figure out the how to's on getting an autograph and pics of Rufus. Thats the thing I can't decide on for which show to get tickets for. Any ideas? Do you think that the late saturday show would be a bad idea? I'm thinking he might be too tired and just want to get the hell home or whatever. But he might be in a hurry after the 2pm show? Arghh! Does he frequent any of the restaurants around after the show....No, I would never disturb him (or anyone else) while he's at a restaurant getting his grub on. I just wanna be able to say that I ate with Rufus Sewell....different tables of course but ya know. lol.. Well, I hope someone can help me with some of my inquirees. oo, sorry if this is in the wrong thread. I wasn't sure if I am allowed to start a thread or if it fits into this one. btw, anybody planning on going to any of the shows on March 1 or 2nd?

lol ---I saw a knights tale last night too----I would go to the show that you can get the best seats for ,,,and as for seeing him afterwards-- I missed him the first night...He had already left by the time I had figured out where the stage door was so I came back Sat mat before the show and waited an hour and 1/2 to see him dashing through the rain at 1:30 but he was incredibly nice to stop and sign an autograph and a picture with me (its on the fan page). but I did feel bad stopping him before a double show (but not that bad : ) ) . When you are coming out of the theatre go to the left ..past the Avenue Q theatre and the stage entrance is past there. It a hallway that looks like it goes to a loading dock. Check to see when you can get the best tickets... www.telecharge.com/behindTheCurtain.aspx There is a box at the bottom that says "I want to look for the next seat at this perfomance". I am going for my third time on Jan 26th and I have front row -aisle seats. I ate at a restaurant called Connely's on the same street as the theatre but a few blocks up ...It was reasonable and had great food. Have a great time and share your story when you come back !!

I reckon you should go twice leelee. If not only because it is quite hard to follow the first time round and you get so much more from it the second time! Probably not both on the same day but one one day and one the next. Your son will just have to put up with your passion!!!

Hi leelee and uncorked: Three's a charm -- I also caught A Knight's Tale on tv last night and taped it as well even though we have it on dvd. (My daughter has commandeered a bunch of her favorite movies for her dorm room) *** of course I've firmly reprimanded her even if it actually did "originally" belong to her Uncorked, I know you already know this news but I'll share with the others: I finally got to see Rock 'N' Roll on Saturday, the 2pm show. (We had tix twice during the stage strike so never got to go before)-- And my daughter and I did get to see Rufus and Alice arrive right before the show We were standing on the sidewalk in front of the entrance of that long corridor waiting for my husband to come back from a store. It was about 1:20 and all of a sudden a black car pulls up about 5 feet from us and I spotted Alice right away in the back. Before I could register that, the car door on the sidewalk side opened and Rufus stepped out. Everything happened so quickly . . . my daughter had her camera in her bag and I had something for him to sign but they were rushing by. I quickly (even without thinking) said "Hello Alice, Hello Rufus" and he turned toward me and my daughter, smiled at each of us, and put up his hand in a sort of wave, and said "Hi". I didn't have the heart (or perhaps the nerve) to stop them for a picture -- I figured they were rushing. . . but despite that it still made my day. Even without makeup, Alice is beautiful, and Rufus is more adorable in person than I could imagine. He had on skinny black jeans with black boots, sort of like army boots, and his hair was kind of spiked up, not the usual curls, maybe because it was just washed, I don't know. I'm sorry I'm analyzing my little hello to death and also the fact that I'm describing what he was wearing but that little 2 seconds of Rufus has warmed my heart When my husband came back, he was so happy for me that I saw him --[he's a good man because he has been very supportive of my Rufus craze -- I guess he figures after being married 23 years he doesn't have anything to worry about, he might as well give in to my whims], and my daughter was raving about how adorable and cute he was, so he said "Oh, ok, now I have to listen to the both of you" Enough said, don't you think. I'll talk about the play and the crowd on a different post.

Quoll is right - I would HIGHLY recommend that you see it twice, if at all possible. I've seen it 6 times ;D and each time I get something different out of it. When I was up there in early December, one of my friends couldn't make it, leaving me with an extra ticket. The box office honors past dated tickets which aren't used so I was able to see the matinee the next day. Have fun! G xo

thank you so much, ladies. Just reading about Terri and uncorked meeting him gave me butterflies. OMG, I won't be able to get the autograph...I'll be too much of a scaredy-cat. Is anybody gonna be going to any of those shows on March 1st or 2nd? I need support.lol I love that Terri was able to remember so much detail. I hope I can do the same so when I let ya'll know how it went it wont be "I saw him and then everything was a blur" lol OK, I'm just teasing a bit. I'll be fine. So, it seems that my best bet would be before the show? Oh, awesome info to know, uncorked...I'd hate to not even get the chance to see Rufus cuz I couldn't find the back door. I wrote those directions down straight away. Now as far as going to a second show, I'd love to but I doubt my son would be up for it. I told him about going to the play and his response was, "I hate plays" I said, "you've never been" He said,"I went to one at school and I hated it" To which I repleid," Um, I think a broadway play would have some better acting in it". . I can get tickets at the venue, can't I. I mean, if he sees it once and would like to see it again, can I get tickets there? I'm all excited. this trip is gonna be wicked fun. Ya know, I think I'll try to be by the stage door before all the shows...what about after the shows? Uncorked, I'll be taking your advice about the tickets. I can't wait!!! thank you so much again chicas! I'll be sure to share when I get to meet him and get his autograph and picture.

leelee I was just thinking it's wonderful that your 14-year-old son agreed to go even once. My teenage son has been to Broadway several times (we live 45 minutes from Manhattan so it's easier for us) but we've been careful what we bring him to because he's such a jock. He says he hates musicals but in the end he's actually been okay with plays like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot, and just over the weekend, Young Frankenstein. I thought we could persuade him to go with us to Rock 'N' Roll because it wasn't a musical and we thought the rock music would do it for him because he enjoys that, but when he heard that it was only snippets of the songs, he decided he'd rather stay home and play basketball with his friends (oh well). If your son decides you can go again a second time, you can even try getting your second set of tickets through the Discount Tickets center in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Your seats may not be as good but you won't have to pay full price for your second time around. That's what I'll probably do when I go my 2nd, and hopefully 3rd time! I know you're not going until Feb, but it'll be so nice for you to look forward to this trip --especially getting through "perhaps" a snow-filled Pennsylvania winter

Hi Terri, I was worried about my son not wanting to go with me and was actually prepared to leave his little butt at home (over his friend's house) and go by myself if need be but he wants to see NYC and once I showed him a couple of interviews that showed some brief clips of the play, he found it interesting enough to check it out. He's really excited about going to McDonalds at times square. Right now he's switching back and forth on the telly between Dick Clark's rockin eve and some guy who's gonna jump a football field on a dirtbike. He's not a jock but loves his dirtbike and quadrunner. Actually, he watched a Ginger Rogers/ Fred Astaire movie with me ealier this evening. Not a bad balance. Anyway, I'm off on a tangent again. I hope he likes the play enough to want to see it again and I'll definately get those discount tickets. Thanks for the info. Happy New Year!

Leelee, I'm going to keep all my fingers crossed that you'll get to meet Rufus before or after the show. I hope you have a terrific time while in NYC. Terri Mac, I'm happy to hear that you were finally able to see the show. I hope you know that we all loved hearing the details of your encounter. It's good to know that Rufus, true to form, made the effort to politely acknowledge both you and your daughter. And I imagine Alice appreciated being recognized as well. I'll just bet that some of Rufus' fans tend to forget she exists when in his presence.

It's good to know that Rufus, true to form, made the effort to politely acknowledge both you and your daughter. I know. In addition to his awesome skills as an actor and his penetrating good looks, he truly seems a very warm, sincere man and that whole package is what pulls me in and puts so many of us on his side so that we want him to do well, to succeed, And I imagine Alice appreciated being recognized as well. I'll just bet that some of Rufus' fans tend to forget she exists when in his presence. I know. I've thought about that as well. From what others have said, and from pictures, they seem very suited to each other, and I'm truly pleased for them.
