If the beach house is open for business we will go. Will limit what and how we do things though. I have showed great restraint in not going to Target. Hopefully our State will start to slowly open up a bit in a couple of weeks with restrictions.
Sorry to hear about your cancelled trip Midoro. Enjoy reading!

the beach we go to in North Carolina is pretty sparsely populated. Social distancing wouldn't be a problem at all. If it is open, we will definitely go. We rarely ate out so our trip won't be much different than normal. We really do go to chill out and get away from it all. We read, do puzzles, play board games and decompress. Could probably use a trip like that more than ever right now.

Have to venture out to the grocery store tomorrow. Will get my mask and gloves ready. Hard to believe that it's Friday already. The days have been bleeding one into another.

Had a debate with daughter today. I saw we're on week 7 of quarantine she says week 6. The difference is that I count beginning on Monday and she counts on Friday. Either way,it's been a long time.
Trying a new recipe tonight. Honey garlic chicken thighs made with spicy honey. It sounds good and I'm looking forward to something new!

It was really good, You brown the chicken thighs in an oven proof skillet. Remove them and sauté 3 cloves of garlic, a tablespoon of brown sugar and a quarter cup of honey. Put the chicken back in the pan along with some green beans. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes turning the chicken after 10 minutes. Very easy and very tasty. We’re going to try to cook one new recipe a week.

Thanks! I may try it. I like the idea of trying a new recipe per week. Find myself, like others, doing more cooking/baking than usual. I have been making casseroles and sending some to the moms.
Happy Wednesday!

Ok, not to sure this new recipe will be a keeper. You take sweet potatoes, boil them until soft, scoop out the pulp, mash, and then mold them into a ball with a marshmallow in the center. You roll the whole thing in crushed cornflakes and bake. yeah, not sure this one is a keeper. I agree, trying the new recipes is making the tedium of cooking, being stuck in home more bearable.

LOL. Sounds interesting.
Cant believe its the last day of April even though it seems like a long month to me.

The sweet potatoes were better than expected. The marshmallow melts as it cooks so it just makes the mashed sweet potato a little sweeter than normal.
Today is definitely an April showers day. Gloomy, windy, and rainy. I hope that May is a better month for us.

We will have a nice and sunny weekend here. Hubby plans to play golf with the precautions they have in place. Its Derby weekend with no Derby here. Will enjoy some traditions any way.
Have a happy, social distancing, mask wearing, hand washing weekend!

The weather was so nice this weekend and today. Highs in the low to mid 70s and sunny. I used the grill for the first time this year. Of course tomorrow it's supposed to be rainy and a high in the low 60s. I wish spring would just come and stay. Some good news today - our governor is lifiting some of the shelter in place restrictions next week.

Sorry for having been away from the board for so long again. Last time I was here must have been before all that Corona cr*p began.
I've been working from home since mid-March now, which works surprisingly well technology-wise but is getting rather lonely. I miss all the banter and laughing with my co-workers and also miss seeing my family. Restrictions are really beginning to grate on me big time. I would really love to go out for a nice dinner or see a movie or listen to some live music. And I detest those face masks. They make me feel like I can't breathe properly (which is of course mostly in my head but nevertheless feels awful). Grocery shopping is definitely not on my list of favourite things to do at the moment!
That said, I'm very glad that nobody in the family or circle of friends has been affected by the virus so far. May it stay that way!
