I had forgotten that today was Rufus' birthday. I hoe he's having a good day even if he's quarentining somewhere. Feeling very lazy today; it's dark and rainy since we're getting the tail end of Hurrican Zeta today maybe that's why. Or it could be the sugar overlaod. Husband bought a huge bag of tootsie rolls and I can't resist them. I keep dipping into the bag.

A real nip in the air today. I’m with you Kygal on the urge to hibernate. Plus we have to change the clocks this weekend. Not looking forward to it getting dark earlier in the evening.

Will go into lockdown again tomorrow. Not allowed to go out from 8pm till 6am except job, a walk etc, cultural and sports institutions closed, also restaurants and hotels, but schools till 14yo open as well as shops. Strict restrictions re meeting (only two households), visiting hospitals and homes for the elderly etc.
Hope you had a nice (though probably distanced) Halloween and weekend, and keep safe! Fingers crossed for your election!

Our covid numbers are higher in my state so I would not be surprised if some more restrictions are put in place. My brother just found out he was positive. He had to be tested due to a positive co-worker. My brothers only symptom is scratchy throat. Hope it stays that way.
Stay safe!

Hope your brother will recover soon Kygal! As I read the symptoms could also be that of a common cold, I wondered if I had it too... Hubby has a colleague who tested positive, but she´s already been at home for ten days, so perhaps no danger from her. Perhaps they´d have to have tests though.
Dangerous and sad incident yesterday in Vienna: a terror attack by at least one islamistic man in the inner city, killing four people and wounding 17, amongst them a policeman, before being shot himself. It was a warm day and the last before lockdown, so many people outside and in the pubs, cafés etc. I´m glad my girls were at home, and nobody I know was in danger. Three days of national mourning.
As if all that wasn´t enough, my Mum had to go to hospital yesterday, but they didn´t keep her, but made all the checks there, till she returned at 2am!

Kygal, sorry to hear about your brother. Hope his case is a mild one with no lingering complications. We had quite a few trick or treaters, I think. We set up the bags of candy daughter made on a table at the end of the driveway. It was to cold to sit out there and by the end of the night all but 3 bags were gone. so we either had 50 trick or treaters or people took more than 1 bag! COVID numbers in Virginia have gone up but not by to much. Things in my area are pretty good.
Midoro - the news of the attack in Vienna was terrible. I'm glad to hear that you and your family weren't affected. I hope the new lockdown doesn't last to long. I read the UK was going to go back into lockdown as well.
Real fall weather here - we had a freeze warning last night, brought in the pots of flowers from the front porch. Mums are hardy but I thought better safe than sorry.

Thanks ladies. My brother is doing well. No significant symptoms. He really thought it may be a false positive. Hopefully he will stay well. I may have had it when I had sinus symptoms a while back.
So sorry to hear of the terrorist attack and your mothers trip to the hospital Midoro. So happy to hear your family is safe and well.
Sunny days and cool nights here. We had more trick or treaters this year then we have had in years. I almost ran out of candy.

Daughter had so much fun decorating for Halloween (which we've never done before) that she's decided to ramp up our outdoor Christmas decorations. We usually put up lights and that's it. Well, she's ordered some oversize ornaments to hang from the porch roof with red ribbon. I told her she couldn't put them up until after Thanksgiving though! I hate it when people rush the holidays and I refuse to be one of them.

Understand about rushing the holidays Rachel! We get doughnuts that are only for carnival the whole year round, gingerbread for Christmas already in August etc. Lol about the trick-and-treaters, and glad there aren´t many cases in your place! Good to hear your brother´s well Kygal! Pity about no candy left for you! Stay safe everyone, and thinking of the US in those days!

Thank you Midoro. I agree.
I dont like to decorate to soon. I have some fall decorations out. I may put my tree up just before Thanksgiving but will not turn it on until after. It really depends on the time I have or if we are traveling.
Stay well!

Update on the decorating front. Daughter thinks we should get a couple of those wicker deer figures that light up. Husband is opposed but my money is on her. Our family tradition is to put our Christmas tree up on the first Sunday of Advent. We do put up the outside lights up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I love the lights since they cheer up the early darkness. Right now it’s pitch black by the time I get home from work. By the end of the month it will be full dark when I leave work.
