Nine feet on the ground and another 40 inches expected in the next 24 hours in the Great Lakes region of New York state! Is there anybody in our group in that area? Nine feet -- it's mind-boggling!

I have a friend that lives in Columbus, Ohio and she says the whole city is shut down/closed today, no school or work, strange. It just got nice here today and should go above 0 tommorrow.

We have a dusting of snow here in Kentucky and it's very cold - 21F. Cleveland, Ohio, where our daughter lives, has several inches of snow on the ground with more to come and 18F. I love the snow and the goats and dogs don't seem to mind it at all.

That must be a universal saying -- it's used here in Georgia, too. And here it's really the truth! The flowers get so confused. Things are beginning to bud out and now it's back below freezing. We're expecting your warm Texas weather later on in the weekend, Michelle and Ree!

Ree! I should pay more attention! I had no idea you were in Texas too! Are you getting this snow/cold we've had for 2 days? It came to us from northern NM.....so I'm not sure it went your direction or not. I can't believe we got down to 9 this morning and are supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow! And 70's this weekend! I usually lose some of my lilacs every year because they will start budding when we get in the 70's in early Feb.........then we'll have a big freeze before Easter! Michelle

I will never complain about the high prices of real estate in Northern CA again after hearing all these crazy low temps! We're about 60F today, and sunny.......sorry, I'm sure you didn't want to hear that.
But then again, we have earthquakes.........

Of course I shouldnt answer my own question but we had some pretty impressive hail here the other day - MILLIONS of dollars damage to the university and brand new shopping complex with uber swanky cinemas. In the mids of a very warm summer this is what we got

Quoll, that looks like wintertime! I'll bet it melted quickly. How large were the hailstones? You needed precip, but not like that!
