Would you believe that Rome bombed in AUs and they took it off after two episodes? Heavens knows when/if they will get around to putting the rest of the episodes on. Even then, they will probably be on at some ungodly hour that no one watches!

He is wonderful as Mark Antony.. its a brit classic... dunno how it stopped at Season Two .. thats just dumb... it is very compelling viewing.. for the performances, script, costumes and sets its a great diversion from RL. nyuck nyuck

I am totally shocked! I went to the HBO Rome forum and didn't see anything on the first or second page of posts so I just googled Rome is cancelled and OMG it's true, those idiots - friggin unbelievable! Is it too much to ask to get a little decent programming? There is nothing left but reality tv! I haven't even seen one episode yet and it's already cancelled?

They have advertised a 3rd season starting in January for the US unless things have changed.
That Mark was a real playboy from what the historians are telling us. He was a PARTY ANIMAL. No wonder you like him so much Creach. Oh & let's not forget all that wonderful Purefoy nakedness!

Oh & let's not forget all that wonderful Purefoy nakedness! I was trying not to forget, but Creach took him away again!! (But, hey, what do I care - I've just bought "Gone to Seed" on ebay, and I'll take Rufie nakedness anyday!) GE2

They have advertised a 3rd season starting in January for the US unless things have changed. Oh Joyo!! you told me but its nice to see it again.. I know that the sets were extravagant and looked like a small city apparently.. and that each episode was very costly to make.. but why cancel such a good show.. because people want reality shows?? um .. not very bloody likely .. its because the studio exec's want reality shows because they are cheap and easy and exploitative and cater to the lowest common denominator in the human psyche.. the enjoyment of other peoples pain and humiliation .. even the ones where they are being nice to someone awwwwww... even get to me.. like Extreme Makeover with that Ty guy... its great and its really a worthwhile project which I wholly support.. hey I'd cry on demand too if it got me a new mansion and a life.. very generous .. but when the host and helpers are crying its obviously part of the script.. particularly when they do it everytime.. I cringe my way through that .. and the worst of it is.. if I don't stop myself my lip starts to wobble and before I know it I am sobbing gratuitiously while laughing at myself.. dang .. where is that soapbox!!?? He was a very naughty boy.. apparently he used to like to race a chariot pulled by lions around Rome dressed as Bacchus.. he was frequently drunk and disorderly.. and Purefoy plays him with relish.. anyway its such fun watching these very manly men .. he and Kevin McKidd were in a rom com together as lovers.. and they are both straight.. but they did a sterling job.. and in Rome they are something of adverseries..
