So... I was thinking it was time for cross Rufus. Suggestions for favorite scenes? One of my favorites is always the one from Charles where he sends Buckingham to the tower for the first time. He's veritably vibrating with rage. Suggestions? Comments? Want to change the category?

No, I think that's a great category, Maxx. I love it when he's cross. In fact, I'm getting all tingly just thinking about it now...... I love the Charlie II scene you refer to, his eyes just burn with indignant rage. I also like the scene in TOTS when he flicks Katharine's face after she whacks him. I thought it was a clever riposte as hitting her full on would not have been very endearing. I've always thought this is a great way to bring someone down from their high horse without actually resorting to violence. The look on his face after she storms off is priceless; a mix of anger, determination, and resignation to the fact that he has actually married this firebrand harpy.

I love that scene ruthy. It's one of my favorites as well. It really highlights the brilliance you get when Rufus is spot on.

Other suggestions, Leopold losing his cool with Sophie in The Illusionist and Gertler flipping out in Carrington.

Gertler was flipped out in most of Carrington. Which scene did you have in mind? Like HIV, it seems like he spent the entire film (what there was of it for Rufus) "flipped out".

Uhm, it's been ages since I've seen it but didn't he crash a party and start a fight? Or a court sitting??

That's right Uke, but the best part of that party scene in Carrington was on the stairs. Rufus was positively frothing at the mouth! and Lets not forget the reaming out Marke gave Tristan in the dungeon.

Let not forget the reaming out Marke gave Tristan in the dungeon. I like that one too and the scene mentioned from the Illusionist. It would be hard for me to choose between the two. I think I'll go watch 'em both again

These were All favorites of mine. This choice may be even more difficult to make than last months!

Hmmmm, well I like the scene in AKT when Adhemar is told the results of all the tournaments while he is away fighting. Also, when he confronts William in jail.......very cross!
There are a few scenes in Martha Meet...... that show a very cross Frank! And I would say that nearly every scene in The Last Romantics has Mike Costain cross........he's yelling and indignant through the whole film!

it looks like it's a good thing we started early on this one.

Yes, the 'fight' scene with the flowers in M, MFD & L was superb, but does a pastiche of 'cross' count? This was high comedy, like three little girls hair-pulling over a skipping rope. I suppose the comedy came from them being genuinely cross, though. Another good choice.

I think we'll close the suggestions on this one on Sunday. We've already got so many I'm not sure if the poll will handle all of the choices. So if you've got one or you'd like to argue in favor of or against one of the choices, or add one of your own you still have a few days.
Remember the idea is to highlight Rufus' work for people who may be dabbling in getting to know him. We want to make a choice that shows it in the very best light.
thanks everyone!
update Okay, I just checked, each poll will handle 8 choices. We have 6 right now. If we go over, we can just do 2 of them. That should work.

I love the scene sending Buckingham to the Tower. Another great scene I always enjoy watching is the fencing scene (the extended one in Charles II) with Charles II & Buckingham.

I love the scene sending Buckingham to the Tower. Another great scene I always enjoy watching is the fencing scene (the extended one in Charles II) with Charles II & Buckingham. that is a nice scene but I don't think anyone is really cross in it-- well maybe Buckingham near the end, but definately not Rufus who seems to actually be having great fun, just in general. Maybe we can pick it up in another COTM.
