I'd still adore him if he spoke like Marilyn Monroe.....Rufus or Hugh.

I'd like pretty much to hear him speaking italian, he should be definitely enchanting, to swoon! Usually I prefer english accent, because I can understand easier, perhaps.

The IMDb has listed a few additional castmembers: Colin Lawrence ... Detective Byrne (he played Hamish "Skulls" McCall on Battlestar Gallactica and he's from London - anyone watch BG? Did he have a British accent?) Lindsay Pulsipher ... Kelly (no bio) Michael Jonsson ... Cop #2 (he's from Canada and he was also on BG and more recently played a paramedic in Possession) Can you tell I can't wait for this series to start? Rai

although Hugh Laurie did a marvellous job of it, not a hint of Bertie Wooster anywhere to be found. Totally OT and a little rant but I just loathe Hugh's American accent on HOUSE. I don't watch the show mainly because of the accent. And the weird thing is that I f*cking adore Hugh Laurie. But not with that accent... LOL I love that show (House) I started watching it this past summer and didn't have any idea until I saw Mr. Laurie on the Superbowl that he wasn't an american. He does a great job.

It took me quite a while to not freak out when hearing the Laurie American accent, but my husband loves House so we watch it faithfully.
Now when I hear his real voice, it sounds weird.
To keep on topic, two more people added to the Eleventh Hour cast on IMDb. Funny they still don't list Marley Shelton...
Shirley Jordan ... Nurse Andrew Hedge ... Cop #

CBS is making a stupid decision to have Rufus play an American, not because he won't do it well--but simply because an English visiting professor with his fabulous English accent in tow would be so much hotter and more popular than a U.S. character type dude. Hands down!!! Lets take a poll, who wants to see yet another Brit play an American? Anybody, anybody? Regardless of how it ends up, it will be a thrill to see Rufus do this role. I'll gag if they ever put Garner on with him, get me a bucket, but I'll still watch to see El Ruf. BTW I think Laurie's American accent is probably the best I've ever heard--and he speaks "American" even better than George W! Okay, maybe that's not such a big achievement...

I'm with Rufluvr on this one, much more interesting to have him speak with his own accent, it's sexier and seems to make more sense too. Hopefully the series will be picked up perhaps for a summer replacement. He's so very talented but the way TV is in the states, if a show is not a success on the first airing it usually gets the axe. Hopefully the suits will give it a shot. He's so very talented and it would be nice to see him in a weekly series. Congrats Ruf!!

I'm with Rufluvr on this one, Ru sounds so much sexier in his own accent! The dumbing down of yet another television show that hasn't even been shot yet! As for Curious George W. , the fact that he can stand without any assistance is a minor miracle for the man, let alone speak English.......... (ooops, did I say that)??

I agree they should let him be an Englishman with his true voice. He'll persevere in the roll - the question is whether he will get past the tiny-boppers that rule hollywood.

I too, wish they'd let him keep his own accent. I LOVE English accents anyway, and his is even better with that sexy raspiness.

Definitely, I vote for the English accent. And like Rufluvr, I wouldn't even think twice about it! CBS selected Rufus for the role, and though he does everything he does to such perfection, why not let him just keep his own voice -- I think it would just be a plus on American tv.
