I would love to see another season of Eleventh Hour, WITH RUFUS SEWELL, but I doubt he would sign for it. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have watch it at all. Not that the stories were not interesting, but One Rufus does not a successful TV series make. He carried it out as much as possible, but I wish him to do a much more complex and successful films and TV, like ZEN for example. Eleventh Hour had much potential, only to be killed by bad script, bad acting (Rachel) and too much accounting involved. I know some will not agree with my opinion about Rachel. But for me she did not act as good as she should. No one puts in the scrip exact definition of how one should act, it is up to the director and the actor. In Rachel's case I did not believe her for a minute. How can you put her next to an actor like Rufus Sewell?... At least by the end he had a respective partner in the face of Felix. All in all, I will quote dolcegattina: "I just love the subtleness of Rufus' acting, the faraway glances, the subtle humor, the pauses.....I could just watch it again and again just to the little things that Rufus will do."

I just hate the two attempts hes made at being a lead in a series have been cut short. Not his fault in eighter case. I hope it doesnt hurt his chances of landing a big lead role in films. I say this because there are lots of stupid people making stupid decisions.
You never know with Rufus. But I think he would consider doing a series again some day if he was interested in the part. I can see him doing a short season cable series.

I can see him doing something like that too. I remember hearing about the first series he tried to do that didn't get green-lit and then I found out he was supposed to play the part of a chef or something along those lines and I was so disappointed! I think that would have been a great role for him! Was it meant to be a sitcom? There are indeed a lot of stupid people making stupid decisions and it's not at all fair on him...or us!

Rufus cake....I like that! I do think some tv series have run their course...like csi. I do get tired of them. I would have liked another season or two of EH. I think Rufus would have done it another year or two. Doubt he would sign on for more than that. He signed on thinking it would last a while and he was nervous about that, but I think he would have been around after season one. If the show came back for a season 2 and he was not in it....I would not be interested. . I also agree with you, Dolce, when you say that the Pinocchio story could've had more to it. One of the things that bothers me most about the ending of the series was the bit in the second Pinocchio episode (with the quadruplets). The moment where Rachel mentions something along the lines of "a person would have to be crazy to clone themselves" and then you see Jacob tear-up and the story never really explains why. It's been aggravating me because the thought of Jacob and his wife maybe in the past trying to have a child would be a heartbreaking addition to the story. What do you all think? Could that have been a possible revelation for season 2? I think Jacob would have made a fantastic father. The way he acts with his nephew and one of the quadruplets is just so sweet. The line he says about there being "no mother panicking, no dad sighing with relief", and the slight hint of a smile after he says it is just priceless. Megagem, I also noticed him getting a little misty eyed when he was talking about the boy being cured of his cancer in the episode Miracle. I think flashbacks of him and his wife would have done wonders for the back story and given us more insight into their relationship and how her cancer had taken its toll on him.

This one was the last episode I've watched so far and I thought the same. I don't know if they really had been trying to have a baby without success or if he "only" realizes in general that he might be a father by now if his wife had survived, but I found the scenes both at the beginning and at the end of this very touching. I like the way Jacob's character is painted very much. The brilliant scientist type could easily have been done very differently, cool and heroic and always on top of everything, but here's this lovely man with a heart of gold and a vulnerability that's never far from the surface. And as time passes, it becomes obvious that Rachel feels that too. Those little looks she sometimes gives him. You just can't help wishing him to be happy again. And I'm sure he would have been an adorable father

What I liked most about Jacob, was that he was unaware of danger and risks for himself, but he was very responsible when it came to people around him!He was a guy with a damaged heart, but his eyes were so bright that you could see the world in them!

Such a wonderful character ( because of Rufus) with so much potential. I really wanted to get to know him better. I think thats why I hated how the series came to an abrupt end like it did. I may be more satisfied if Stephen Gallagher would at least write novels of season two and three so I could know more. Not to much to ask!

Oh, novels! Now that would be lovely, and something I can actually see happening! What a wonderful idea!
