My goodness, it's quiet around here right now!
I found this on the IMDB message-board for EH - the poster has seen the pilot and isn't impressed:
"I was in Las Vegas and my husband and I were approached to watch a screening of a new CBS show. It turned out it was an episode of this show, "The Eleventh Hour," put on by Jerry Bruckheimer.
This show was absolutely dreadful. Refus Sewell isn't a bad actor, but his lines were terrible. Every time he opened his mouth it was to spout some sort of philosophical speech. It seemed that the writers were desperate to prove that he was some sort of tortured soul with a terrible past.
His partner, Rachel, didn't make too much sense, either. She was too serious for her own good in the beginning. At some point in the plot she had a near sex scene with a random character that had nothing to do with the plot. Perhaps they stuck that in there to establish...what with her character? She then suddenly turns into a sort of glib sidekick that spouted funny one-liners. She just confused me completely.
And the plot? Well, the idea at first peaked my interest. I was curious to know where it was going, since it seemed to be quite the medical mystery. But after some humming and hawing, it turned into a very predictable plot. One of the bad guys was over the top and did some things that seemed very unnecessary in her situation.
There was so much potential in the plot, but it was wasted. The whole show tried so hard to be intense and serious, but in the end it just made itself look boring and silly.
If I was to watch a thrilling plot, I would watch an episode of Law and Order: SVU.
Eleventh Hour is not worth my time."

Well, it is Ruf starring in a program (if she is right, did any of us really expect much from Hollywood?). At least we get 1 Pilot and 13 committed episodes for series one. At least she acknowledged that Refus isn't a bad actor.
Maybe he is doing some more audio books with Silksound Books or Dr. Syn....

When you read these things on IMDB they often aren't reliable. I've seen so many posts that are clearly someone's ax to grind. I wouldn't worry about it too much. it could be someone who is irritated because they weren't cast as an extra that wants to bash the production. It could someone who thinks Bruckheimier has enough crap on the air, could be an ex-girlfriend of Danny Cannon... could be many things.
Everybody has an opinion. I hated Titanic. Thought it was absurd. If someone had listened to me one of the biggest grossing picture in history might never have been made.

I'm with you on that one, Maxx! My husband & I each wanted to leave at intermission, but didn't say anything to each other and wish we had. When people were crying at the end, we both were laughing it was so horrible.
Let's hope anyone who spells it REFUS is totally wrong.

I mean....E is not even anywhere near U on the keyboard. I'm with you all on 'Titanic'. If I hadn't been heavily pregnant and wedged into my seat, I'd have been off to the nearest off licence, I can tell you. I think I was faintly hoping they might change the ending or something, just for a

Just to boost our spirits about Eleventh Hour, various snippets I found:
Generating strong buzz at CBS are dramas "The Mentalist," "Eleventh Hour," "Mythological Ex" and the untitled Geena Davis project.
The biggest question marks at CBS are whether the network will make the summer moves of "Without a Trace" to 10 p.m. Tuesday and "Cold Case" to 10 p.m. Sunday permanent. That would open the desirable post-"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" spot for the launch of a new drama. --------------------------------------------------- While there is little intrigue about ABC's upfront presentation -- expected to feature only a couple of new scripted entries, drama "Life on Mars" and comedy "Scrubs" -- the guessing game continues about what pilots will make the cut at CBS and Fox.
Dramas "Eleventh Hour" and "The Mentalist" continue to lead the pack at CBS. ---------------------------------------------------
and me speaking:
As previously predicted, EH seems like a sure thing and it would certainly help the ratings if it were put in that cushy spot after any of those CSI shows.

Just read the following in the local NY paper. "Eleventh Hour" - This latest from Jerry Bruckheimer is another lock and is an adaption of a British miniseries about a scientistwho explores strange phenomena.............British actor Rufus Sewell is attached". Was listed as #4 in the top 10 of new pilots for the upcoming season. As usual there is no guarantee that this show will be picked up or any of the others listed. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I know plenty of people that didn't like eleventh hour in the UK version so time will tell. If I'm blatantly frank, and I think I will be, I'd like Rufus to do the show for one year so he gets the money but the idea it might go on for 8 or 9 years scares the crap out of me. So I maybe cheering just a little less than anyone else. As to Titanic: Anyone over the age of 12 should be able to tell you that no woman is EVER going to leave Billy Zane for Leonardo di Craprio, no matter how difficult he seems on the surface.

I'm so there with you, Maxx. Hugh Laurie says that he cannot get any work back in Britain anymore. Looks like one has to be very careful with such commitments.
