Is it b/c I misspelled 'Roof' wrong? I fixed it! Or is it my siggy?

It's your siggy.
Frank sat 2 rows in front of me at RnR. The man was stooped & very jowley but had the warmest smile on his face & was friendly to everyone around him. I thought that perhaps he was there to check out the competition, but apparently not. The man with him had a wrapped present that he was carrying around so I thought that maybe he had a belated b-day present for Roof, but he carried it throughout the play. I would have loved to have found a graceful way to jump the rows & get a picture but I am not the athletic type. All the same it was a thrill to see an old crush in the audience. I will always remember how sexy he was on stage in Dracula.

Heh...
I got this siggy from Keane's documentary DVD, Stranger. Before their NY concert @ Radio City, Tom complains about a tonsil and so Tim (who's entire family, mom, dad and brother are doctors) checks it w/ a flashlight. Richard comes running up and say 'oh f***'...I thought it would be fun to post it up here.

Fingers crossed here too! I cannot believe that the papers seem to think Martin Sheen is the favourite. Which planet do they live on?

they do? I thought they were leaning toward Kevin Spacey which dumbfounds me even more quite frankly.
I don't know a lot about Michael Sheen other than the fact that he's a very respected stage actor and that he graduated from RADA. If Rufus loses it may be because of his pedigree. There is always a toll to be paid for walking your own road.
I'm always amused when an actor wins an award for imitating someone else. I find it the most curious thing, when creating a living breathing human being out of thin air should be what we really applaud.

I cannot believe that the papers seem to think Martin Sheen is the favourite. Which planet do they live on? That is odd! Especially since he isn't even nominated The lovely Michael Sheen (no relation) is though and he is a very deserving nominee, I would expect. Michael is known for his real life characters (Tony Blair, David Frost, Kenneth Williams, Robbie Ross and soon Dylan Thomas ... noooo!!) and he is extremely talented. I am a huge fan of his and Heartlands is one of my top favourite films. I would be on Team Sheen if I weren't already on Team Sewell.

OOps, slip of the finger there! Michael of course! (We are more used to the Martin kind over here in Aus, the Michael kind hasnt really ventured this far:-)) The snippets I have read suggest that Michael is due for a busy night.

Ah but, maxx, that would mean Rufus wasn't deserving of an award for his portrayal of Charles II, when he bloody well was!!

Abso-bloody-lutely. It's a brave and risky thing to portray a real person, especially one who's still living or only recently departed. No disloyalty to Rufus here at all, but Michael Sheen's portrayal of Kenneth Williams was sublime and anyone who's read KW's diaries couldn't fail to have been touched by it in some way.
Still rooting for Rufe though!

Ah but, maxx, that would mean Rufus wasn't deserving of an award for his portrayal of Charles II, when he bloody well was!! LOL! Well you've got me but in my defense we don't have tons and tons of video tape of Charles II doing what he did so Rufus could mimic him. We wouldn't have any idea if Rufus' portrayal was spot on or not. We just know he convinced us it was. In point of fact, he didn't even really look like Charles. And he did create his portrayal out of 'semi' thin air because he gave dimensionality to a man lived 300 years before he was born. People like Truman Capote and David Frost and Ray Charles were in the public eye for ages and everyone knows exactly what they were like. Anyhow it's not meant as a reflection on Michael Sheen as an actor, just the role he could win for. Actors often don't win for their best role but a body of past work. Rufus day may come, yet. It may even surprise everyone and be today! ;D
