Peach, answering your last question first, this site got started when a previous Rufus fansite, EMS (The Eyes are the Mirror of the Sewell) had to shut up shop VERY suddenly, for reasons which I won't go into here. We literally had just hours notice of it closing - believe me, the members were absolutely bereft! Then Uke came to the rescue and started up this site, which is organised in the same way as EMS was. Maxx started up roofsewell.com a few months later to complement this site.

The old site certainly reached around the world - the site owner was working in Afghanistan, and we had US, Aussie and UK members (and I'm sure we must have had a few from elsewhere, too).

Rufus has always been somewhat "under the radar" - he was almost "our little secret", but he now clearly has an extensive fan-base, which has grown more and more since we began, not least since Eleventh Hour aired. The other two main Rufus sites, About Rufus and Vue2Sewell (I couldn't access the latter when I tried the other day) aren't being updated right now, so I suppose we could claim to be THE major Rufus fansite now!

As far as I'm concerned, it's three cheers to Uke for rescuing us from our misery!

GE2, thanks much for shedding light on this most amazing site, for which I am greatful. And most of all thanks to you Uke for resurrecting this site. I'm sure I speak for all that we thank you and all who keep this site going from the bottom of our collective hearts.

GE2, have you any idea how much longer will the roofsewell.com site be available? Maxx hasn't updated it for some time. Is there a time limit for un-maintained sites? I'd sure hate to see it go.

When I asked if he would mind signing my copy of the play text, his immediate response was "You've waited out in the rain for me - of course I can!"

I agree, he is a beautiful man and very caring. I caught him after R n R in London and he said he was in rush but he still chatted to me for ages before looking at his watch and laughing. Then he said with a chuckle he would blame me when he was told off for being late. And then he winked before running off. He really is lovely and his laugh is even nicer to hear in real life. Mmmmm ;D

P.s he played the piano in Middlemarch and I vaguely remember an interview in a English mag that said he could play the piano, he used to live above a piano shop in London and he was taught by the owner.
