Yes, boss! ;D If you all insist, I'll make it a priority. But only because I'm very obedient.

Rueful, some say it's a bit too long, and didn't liek the photography, I thought it a stunning work, he's simply beautiful and the interraction between Maya Stange and Ruf will simply melt your heart, esp. in the later scenes, I won't give anything away, but it's on my top 5 list of his films, also check out the special features section on the DVD, good interviews by all not just him. Let me know what you think.

I don't mind long, slow-moving movies, if they're well done. Thanks very much for the reviews and recommendations. I'll try to get my hands on it and will let you all know. Is there more than one version (for example US versus overseas)?

You know I'm not sure, you may want to check Amazon, that's where I got mine. Or perhaps E-Bay.

Thanks. I did just check around. Amazon only had a couple of sellers asking $75 or more(!), and ebay only listed a vhs, but I found a canadian company. The shipping was as much as the dvd, but it still was only about $20. Now I'm quite eager to see it. We'll see how long it takes.
(Not besmirching the probably very efficient canadian postal service...it's mine that's questionable. I ordered a book via "media mail" because it wasn't something urgent. When it hadn't arrived after the required 28 day wait, I used the tracking number to check and found that it had been sitting in my local branch for almost 3 weeks. When I called the station, the woman who answered asked, "Oh, did you want me to give that to your mail carrier to bring to you today?")

rueful: oh please besmirch canadapost whenever you want. i belong to a few online art-trading groups, i have to apologize regularly for our postal service, and i never cease to wonder why a package will take 4 days to get here from england, yet will require 2.5 weeks to get from montreal to boston.
my personal theory is: when you guys sold the poney express, we bought it.
so, i dont want to be a downer, but dont hold your breath.
but then again, sorry to be insisting, that movie is truly worth the wait. promise me you will watch it as soon as it gets to you (you should wait until the canadian snow on it has thawed, though). last advice: when you do, keep a box of kleenex close by. i wept like a baby at the end.
oh! and report to us immediately after screening!!!! THAT'S AN ORDER!!!

LOL! I hate to break it to you, but I think those ponies have died.
I'm sorry to hear it will be a kleenex ending. I've decided that Rufus is plagued by the 3D effect in his movies: He's either Dumped, Defeated, or Disemboweled. I'd like to see him get a happy ending once in a while.
But yes, Chief, I will report as soon as the film arrives!
P.S. Tag, you're it.

I think you were vague enough. Besides, I asked. It makes me look forward to getting it, eventually, even more.

nothing really given away, it's just a sweet movie, and before the end you'll probably guess anyway. I'm eager to hear your review.

AMEN to that. i think sexy, in this case, is more than "pretty". we see plenty of "pretty", right? yes, he seems humble, and a real "guy". i mean... he could be vain, right? to me, that is sexy. but he also seems to know himself well, and to be sure of himself in a non-cocky way. it takes a strong man to lead the career he has, to handle some roles the way he does. to me, that's sexy too. we're going to see a lot of him in the future, i am sure... he is far from having reached his full potential. an actor like that will never stop to evolve. he is in this for the right reasons. so he might as well be sexy, as well as so talented. adds to the package. seriously, i keep watching his movies, and i can see the ACTOR learning, improving, working hard but not letting it show (seems so easy...), constantly evolving. i have seen it so rarely... REAL TALENT, REAL PASSION. i have been a movie fan since i saw "the fantastic voyage" as a child, half hidden behind my father's cap. during all those years, only a handful of actors i can recall had such a splendid evolution as sewell has. so take the hair theory with a grain of salt. i see the brains underneath the mop! for me, ultimate male sexiness has to do with lots of brains... I'm with you on that, Hon! But physical appearance does help too! My genius microbiologist friend is all brains but zero sexy and he has on one occasion let me know he's interested. In the meantime, here - have a gratuitously curly-headed, grizzled, eeeeeevil-looking Rufus: Ok, girls, this is way not fair! Be still my beating heart! Are you all trying to kill poor little Newbie me? My scientific observation thus far is that Ru is drop dead gorgeous with any hairstyle! .... and oh did I mention that this thread is killing me softly? oooooo noooooo... heeelp meee.... I'm meeeeelting!!!!!!
