I have only seen this once and a half times, I can't bear to go through his angst again, those soleful eyes. What a wonderful performance though but it's just so sad.

Maz, there are some copies at Amazon UK - they are very expensive though. I don't know why - i didn't pay anything like that for my copy locally. Good luck finding one - make sure you have the tissue box handy when you watch it though!!!

I usually read a book first and then watch the movie, but this time I couldn't wait. Anyway, I am looking forward to reading the book (I hope I will be patient enough to wait for the version read by that wonderful voice until I have finished the reading). I don't know it in the book Marty's character is more developed than in the film. You feel so sorry for her... waiting for something she would never have! Surely, I'll cry, I am also one of those who cries with films but even more with books. Again, Giles,... oh,... Giles...

Found it on play.com, for a lot less than the amazon asking price ;D I'm not a weepy kinda person, if it makes me cry I'll be very surprised!! Will report back once Ive watched it.

Hahaha, famous last words maz!!! I don't THINK i'm terribly weepy (although Rufus does seem to have that effect on me), but Woodlanders does it to me EVERY time - even though i know what's going to happen. I was thinking to myself that maybe you won't be as upset seeing as you've read this thread and obviously you must have some idea of what will happen - but given i get teary just THINKING about Giles, i'm not too sure. All i can say is that i was so distraught after watching this, that my husband thought there had been a death or some terrible disaster in the family when he got home from work and found me sobbing while i was cooking dinner. Did he laugh his ass off once i explained to him why i was upset!!! Its just so...........................................sad

I know the feeling Tip, I can't bear to watch this anymore. I've put it out of sight, just thinking of it makes me sad. His face is so full of angst that it's just unbearable to watch. Besides in most of the shots they all look so damned cold which only adds to how miserable it is.

I do like the hand sex though!!!!! Don't you think "hand porn" sounds better? Maybe not? Porn in a church sounds worse than sex
