Thanks for the info, rainy! That's very early for a season finale. I wonder what if that means they've decided not to renew, or if they'll make their decision based on the ratings for the final shows.

HEY! episode written by stephen gallagher, the originator of the british series! apparently they are palying all their cards. before xmas, i would not have cared much if this series did not come back. now i care, its getting somewhere, i sure hope they give it another go. but no, lizap, this was pretty much announced a while back. there is a middle--of-season show to take the EH spot.
talking about mid-season shows, anyone knows if "medium" will be back, with rosanna arquette & jake (sigh) weber ? i relly like that one.

It's not unusual for a network to shorten the first season of a new series so they can premiere a mid-season show in a prime timeslot, like the one after "CSI". All I can say is if this a cliffhanger, there sure as heck better be a second season!

tipou, Medium started back up a couple of weeks ago (that's Patricia Arquette). I'm sorry to say, it's beginning to seem a little predictable to me this season.

HEY! episode written by stephen gallagher, the originator of the british series! He hinted he had some involvement, on his blog. He's written Subway, too. On the other hand, he also wrote Resurrection which was supposedly a virtual lift from the UK version.

Womens Murder Club was a cliffhanger and it never got picked up for a second season.....the powers that be don't care about anything other than the almighty greenback.

DGD you are absolutely right on the button with this. I've been tracking the ratings since the October 9th premiere. It has done well, very well for a new show, but it hasn't garnered the allmighty 18-49 segment, and for the life of me I don't understand why.
It makes me angry as hell that CBS continually neglects this show. The only thing that I can think of is that with Mr., Brukheimer behind this they automatically figured it didn't need the press. Greed and profit sadly decides what shows stay or go, what an awful business.

2 publications (locally) are touting this episode as a "critics choice". It sounds like a goodie, then hopefully we can look forward to seeing season 2 in the very near future. In that time Marley would have given birth, and a possibel return of Felix, and last but not least, stronger scripts. Too bad the series finale of ER ends as well taking the 9-11 timeslot on NBC.

The ep has a very good lead-in, the 200th episode of "CSI" which was directed by William Friedkin. I finally saw a commercial for it this evening during "The Mentalist" and it looks like it's going to be a great episode!

sorry to mention it once more, but after the last ep we saw, any other ep will look like a masterpiece. we HAVE seen the pits as far as commercial TV goes. so expect a goodie tomorrow.

HAD to bring that up, didn't you? Just when I'd gotten the stench out of my nostrils.

Oh, I feel MUCH better (although now terribly sad that the season has ended). Now that was a good episode. Well written, acted, and directed. (They still need to increase the lightbulb budget though. It's so dim. Maybe we should start a Bruckheimer Underused Lighting Benefit to raise funds.)
Just a few rapid thoughts--I don't think anything I've written below would constitute a SPOILER, but I guess it depends on how unspoiled you like to be, so I'll leave a little gap:
I loved the many facets of Hood: angry Hood, kickass Hood ("Try it"), worried Hood, action Hood, sweet Hood. Gave Rufus a lot of room to actually act, and he rose to the occasion.
Marley was also fantastic--she made Rachel tough emotionally, but showed realistic physical responses to the situation.
Omar and all the guest actors were very good. It kills me that it doesn't seem that long ago when Helen Slater was going to be the next "it" girl. How time flies.
Strangely, there was not a lot of science in this episode--it seemed like more of a standard procedural, but since I'm not a big science geek, I won't complain.
I was worried they wouldn't wrap everything up in time, because I had an eye on the clock. The ending was a bit rushed, but otherwise I really enjoyed the episode and am glad they went out on a high note.

It was nice to see more of Rufus' acting range in this one and I too wondered about the timing. I loved this episode.. Besides .. won't complain about Ruf in a tux. I really hope they bring this show back for another season.
