Great episode! I was starting to get a little worried about the time towards the end too. The scene with Rachel and Hood at the end got me teary eyed and was well played by both Rufus and Marley. This is a perfect example of how good this show can be when the actors have a decent script to work with. I hope we get some good news soon about the show's future; if they can maintain the quality of tonight's episode, EH can be a stand-out series both critically and in the ratings.

Ahhhhh...
Maybe I wasn't expecting much, the stench from Olfactus still permeates my apartment, but last nights EP was fantastic. The camera angles, the zooming, the shakiness of it at times...felt much more real than usual.
And is it just me, or does bringing in a "Sleeper Cell" actor/actress automatically make the episode better? Examples....."Containment" had Oded Fehr and Henry Lubatti...awesome EP, "H20" had Blake Shields and "Titans" had Alex Nesic....all standout EP's and then comes along "Medea" with Melissa Sagemiller....coincidence? I think not. Just like the first season of "J.A.G" had people from "ER" in it....hmmmm maybe I'm onto something here.
And may I just say....Rufus is HOTT when angry. I loved his interactions with the deputy director...yell some more Rufus, the ratings will go up...lol
And the ending set me up perfect for my naughty little fanfic.....my muse is whispering to me. Bwahahahaha!

I'm afraid I have to wish my "IT'S OVER!!!" will come true. I really think Rufus could do so much better. True, anything was an improvement over Olfartus, but I was disappointed in last night's episode.
First of all, in the name of shallowness, may I say that Roof looked SPECTACULAR and just being able to watch him every week in HD is a real treat. That being said, there were some moments that had me shaking my head:
Supergirl was a waste - you would think she'd have a bigger part.
Right after a commercial, drugs are being pulled out of a light switch without explanation. Is this a common hiding place that we should all know about? Gee, I feel out of the 'stash places' loop.
Was it really necessary for Rachel to give all the street terms for crystal meth? Even I know what that is.
How the heck can you tell someone's eyes are yellow by looking at a webpage? Really far-fetched, not to mention the immediate tracking down of the baby.
Lucky that old truck started right up with just the twist of a screwdriver. And it had plenty of gas to get to the SAME HOSPITAL CORRIDOR THEY USE EVERY TIME THERE IS A HOSPITAL CORRIDOR SCENE.
I'm so fed up with all the shows on various networks that use overhead establishing shots and captions (e.g., Alexandria, VA) to convince the viewers where we are, but on the ground it's the same back lot in Burbank. With all the money out there, couldn't they do some location shooting? It could still be California, but perhaps use a real town and not the same fake one?
I could go on, but I think I've made my point. It's not all meant to criticize EH. Other shows like all the CSIs and House and Bones and Criminal Intent - they all have the same fake sets. Why call it CSI New York when it's just overhead shots of Manhattan?
I'm digressing. Sorry. Thanks for listening. Didn't mean to make it Rai's Pet Peeves Hour. Lucky for you we're getting a thunderstorm so I better log off.

well the light switch can easily be explained...during the commercial break, they may have had drug dogs come in and sniff the place out.
I don't know Supergirl...so I don't really care I guess.
Is it really necessary to rattle off what certain powders and drugs are used for on ER and CSI? Maybe not...but thats all TV for ya.
the yellow eye thing...to someone who thinks like that and is really good at looking for small, tiny details...maybe it's easier than the average schmuck with a PC and a 15" screen.
The rest of it I agree with however. Only explanation for location could be that it's a hassle to get permits and equipment and all that hoopla. Just like the movie "Enough"...it never filmed further east than LA....Only three principle shooting sites really...San Fran, LA and Seattle...yet Jennifer's character was supposed to be in Maine at one point...(it was Port Townsend, WA...I know I used to take the same ferry...)
Sad thing is...they could end it now...not too many loose ends really...damnit.

I agree the show is so below Rufus's level that I have wondered often why he agreed to do it. Saying that, I still enjoy the show because he is in it and he does well despite what he is given to work with. I just hope he had fun doing it and only hope it comes back if he wants to keep doing it. And I shallowly agree....he looked Wonderful!!! ~Laura

Rai, robbiesheik and DGD, I do agree with some of what all of you said. Rai, Rufus did look just, well, perfect....... that's not shallow. That is fact. He is also one of the best actors alive. My sister and I would probably not stay up so late on Thurs. nights to watch EH if it were not for Ruf. Acting genius, so handsome and easy to watch is what Ruf brings to the EH in every episode. He does deserve better material. I so hope that if he agrees to continue the series for the next season, the"powers that be" bring in a writing team that are able to allow Ruf to expose his talent that satisfies himself creatively and the audience. It would be more expensive to shoot in more localities. With money so tight everywhere, I'd rather see the dollars paid out to keep Ruf in the series and pay great writers. I realize that as Rufus is an artist, he may be happier performing in a great play in some little theater in London. But his audience would only be a handful of people compared to the millions who could watch him in a weekly series. I hope that he may have it all ! The "money people" who back the film industry want to make sure that the films they invest in will make big money. Most of them are only interested in the bottom line. So they want actors who are big box office draws. I don't think that Rufus was well known enough here in the US for some of the investors to "bank" on him. But with his exposure in the EH, I think that has changed. Being a relative newbie to Ruf and his talents I really have appreciated watching him show his acting range as Dr. Hood. And then to watch him in TOTS, Charles II, Savage Land, Dangerous Beauty, etc. convinced me of Rufus's far-ranging talents. I know that we all would love to see him in a new movie on the big screen. A movie that is deserving of his talents and that is a commercial success also. In that case, we may all experience more and more of this man's abilities to capture us as we respect and enjoy his acting genius. ...... I'll get off my soap box now. Guess I went on for too long I do feel much better. I think I need a chocolate chip cookie.

I think this was the episode we've all been waiting for. What can I say, it had another terrific performance by Ruf, with writing to match. Nice turn by Shelton as well, well done all around sorry they had to wait this long for some juicy writing and polished direction. Well paced too. Sad to say it was trounced in the ratings by the series finale of ER. CBS should have waited a week to air this episode, CSI faired poorly as well considering it was their 200th episode that was directed by William Friedkin (The Excorcist). They could have had ratings sewn up had they waited. Still let's hope theirs a 2d season, this episode left the window open for that.

Here he reminds me Dark City Dreamer...I totally agree. A few times in this episode I thought of Dark City....I think it was the hair.

I loved the many facets of Hood: angry Hood, kickass Hood ("Try it"), worried Hood, action Hood, sweet Hood. Gave Rufus a lot of room to actually act, and he rose to the occasion. How time flies. I was worried they wouldn't wrap everything up in time, because I had an eye on the clock. The ending was a bit rushed, but otherwise I really enjoyed the episode and am glad they went out on a high note. I agree with you. The show found it's right direction, it's a great and new way...perhaps the writers know RS fit movie than TV finally. This ep is just like a small movie...so it seems too rush for every thing...and I agree with Rai, everything is too simple to be found...that's the reason...small movie....more RS more room to RS but less time to explain.... I think it's prefect ep with limited time and money... I like it...hee.... I think the second season is no doubt...
