It does seem kind of odd that it would be made again so quickly, although I never heard of the 2008 version or anyone in it. The Wikipedia description of that version indicates that it wasn't exactly true to the story, so maybe this would be a more faithful adaptation. This is Babelfish's translation of the French, which is of little use but I find just hilarious ( spoilers if you're not familiar with the story): I'm sure Tipou will clarify for us eventually. If this is really happening, in a way I'd love to see Rufus cast against his usual type to play the visitor, but Roderick Usher probably has more for him to sink his teeth into, acting wise. As always, GE2, thanks for giving us hope in these dark times of miserable waiting!

Interesting if it's true, Forlani isn't half bad, not too familiar with Scott. Great translation, LOL!

I third that! I love Poe! I remember the old movie with Vincent Price- who absolutely rocked in everything as far as I am concerned. It will be so cool to see Rufus in a Poe story. ;D and oh my... actually not a bad translation as far as babelfish goes... Babelfish really sucks for Italian! LOL

Interesting if it's true, Forlani isn't half bad, not too familiar with Scott. Great translation, LOL! Dougray Scott played the Sultan Shahryar in the "Arabian Nights". Rufus played Ali Baba in that production. They had no scenes together but I am sure they would be great in an "Usher" remake. Pitzel

Thanks for the find, Rueful - beat me to it! There's a bit more here: www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i07c80a70350aca72b1ed63a6e98bcf68Originally published in 1839, "Usher" tells of the mysterious goings-on in the house of Roderick Usher, who has recently buried a sister whose presence still haunts the house.
"Ushers" will look at a grown brother and sister who have lived in the same Martha's Vineyard house for a long time but begin to feel trapped there, and who then bring in a real-estate broker to help them resolve their crisis.
Stefano Gallini Durante and Pete Maggi will produce, while Gian Marco Masoni penned the screenplay.
So I wonder if Rufus is the estate agent or the brother? I'm betting the estate agent.

Thanks for the added info, GE2. I almost think he might be typecast as the brother, but I think I'd rather he be the agent. Maybe. I'm so wishy-washy.

Well, we keep talking about how he always makes his characters fully dimensional, no matter how underwritten...
I've never seen a modern 3D movie--I was assuming that just portions of it are 3D, like objects that suddenly "fly at the audience". Is that right, or does the new technology make the whole thing 3D?
