I would love to recast The Philadelphia Story, Ruf as C K Dexter Haven of courst (Cary Grants' part) big shoes to fill, but it suits him to a tee, plus it's a comedy. he'd be a natural. Too bad they've already updated Sleuth, Jude Law was good but I hated the direction by Branagh. Ruf would have been good. Way too many closeups in the newer version and too stark.

somehow i see ruf in any cary grant role. north by northwest would be good too. only, there are not a lot of eva marie saint types around in hollywood these days.

Only actor that has been fairly consistent is in my opinion is Sandra Bullock, and oh yeah Meryl Streep. Oh how I wish the suits would let him open up on EH, where is his comic side that I read about? Or what about his agent, the problem is there are no decent writers out there and if there are they are no where to be found. He needs to do more comedy. PLEASE!!!!!

Get the contract ready, and DGD you want in on this partnership? I just the the film Picnic, done in mid fifties i think with William Holden as the lead and (ugh!!!!!) the very wooden Kim Novak (she of slight talent). The movie seems so dated now, esp. the horrid and out of place music, just dreadful now, anyway, I think Ruf could do that part, the story could use a bit of updating and drop the incidental music. Oh and did I mention. More comdedies please, Ruf is damn funny. Has anyone seen his pic on facebook? When was that taken and by whom, I think one of his own pics would suffice, it soreley needs updating. Who can we contact then? Anyone know? 1 pitcher of cosmos coming up!!!!!!

facebook? where? contract will include, incidentally, a lot of pampering. we like our stars happy. is this drink coming yet? william holden, cary grant... we have something there. very few actors today have the natural grace and elegance to tackle those. well, maybe clooney. can we sign clooney? i like clooney. comedy, definitely. damn funny i agree, and i have a feeling we have not seen the best of his comedic talent yet. but lets not type cast him into romantic comedy please. one hugh grant is enough. let's go for real slapstick. these days i see more actors trying to be funny, than i see funny actors. maybe even peter sellers' territory. oh. i have invoked the beloved spirit of peter sellers. sorry, i have to take a moment of silence here. or, if we HAVE to go commercial, lets pair clooney and sewell in some kind of "men in black" type of movie. oh my god. sweats. someone START THE AC! i just pictured both, side by side, in black suits... i feel faint... is this drink coming?

OK brain not working properly today, meant to say IMDB, bad pic on IMDB not facebook. Brain freeze #2 today. Drink on way hold tight!!!!
Clooney, never, Clooney will always just be Clooney, pretty face nice to look at shouldn't speak. How can Pitt and Damon get better picture after picture while Clooney is just well, George??? I'm standing firm on this, he's really just an ok performer. Not in any league at all with our green - eyed beauty! Not now nor ever. (don't hold this against me, differences of opinion are all well and good, I just don't quite understand his talent other than changing girlfriends at the drop of a hat and appearing in all the rags, but yes he is pretty, sigh)
I wouldn't consider Picnic a comedy by any means, it's a drama, but when done Holden and Novack it was just plain bad. Holden's charachter is a bit of a drifter and n'er do well, someone Ruf can play with no problem, if only the powers that be would give him a chance.
RIP Mr. Sellers, damn funny guy, really good and slimy in Lolita too.

ok then. no clooney. but i will take another drink for that. and about that green-eyed guy, keep faith. its not just a question of chances being given to him or not. he makes his own way. he never talks about roles he turned down. i would bet 50$ there would be a few surprises there. we still have not seen anything, i could bet another 50$ on that. just watch him go. the best is still ahead, and his best will make all his previous roles ridiculously pale in comparison. not many actors i would bet 100$ on... maybe frances mcdormand... can we get frances?

She's one of my faves, really talented and can do so much too. We;ll work on that.
I know I'm kvetching, I know he likes to pick and choose what projects to do, but so far two of those films have yet to be picked up, Vinyan and Downloading Nancy, both look good although subject matter is ver y dark and we all know that h'wood likes happy cheerful movies, so it would be a shame iof these films don't get an audience. It just seems that he gets pigeonholed into certain roles and once your labeled a certain way it's hard to find work outside of that. I hope he does more stage work, he's a treat to watch.

ok !!!! we have to get frances and ruf in a movie together. a sci-fi thriller, a la "andromeda strain"? a comedy reminding of "being there" ? we need a hit. who's got a screenplay? rufus said once he was working on a screenplay, anyone read it? top oscar nominations would not hurt our little company.
see, already i think about money. what a mogul.
has GE2 come aboard? GE2, where are you? hit me on the head right now!!!
i dont worry too much about the "pigeonholes". he is the next laurence olivier - there i am,.being delirious again - so not to worry. i've got 100$ on the kid.
i would still like the police story...

yep... another one of those geniuses who refuses to be pigeonholed... looooove william. did he win an oscar? cant remember... just the type of client we need.
but can it be a police story? william, rufus, frances, perhaps christopher... imagine the buzz. sundance. cannes. venise.
i'm drooling again. you're right, no more cosmo's for this tipou.
