Whatever everyone is up for I will do.. I did like the idea of chronological order and I can sit out the weeks I don't have the movies, or if anyone is willing to and knows how to put those hard to find ones up on YouTube, maybe that would be s workaround? Just a thought, I am happy to stick with the random idea as well.....

.......Or I can just call Ru and ask him to send me the catalogue of his early works, that shouldn't be a problem,eh? :-)

I'm chiming in late to this thread, but I'll be happy to participate in whatever order anyone wants to watch them - random, chronological, alphabetical. I really don't care! That being said, I do like the idea of having at least week's advance notice so I can see if I can obtain a copy of whatever is coming up if I don't already have it. (As to AKT ... do NOT buy the version labeled "Extended Cut!" It doesn't have the commentary track available and apparently all of the "deleted scenes" are incorporated into the film, so you can't just watch that lovely Rufus shirtless sword-training scene by itself. )

Stama, that is absolutely fantastic!!! Look at his beautiful fingers. Thanks so much for doing that!!! And judy i'm confrused now!!! I have the Extended Edition of AKT and i actually like the fact that the deleted scenes are included in the movie because i think it adds to the flow of the story BUT you're right, it doesn't have the commentary!!! But i have watched/listened to the commentary version with Paul Bettany. Now i'm a bit freaked out. And in regards to the movie of the week, it seems to me that there's a spread between those who want it pre-scheduled and those who want it random. So we should probably go with the idea of doing both (read my last post for details). We just need someone to volunteer to be in charge of the schedule - to do the random draw in advance ie, draw out all 34 titles, and make up the schedule, PM the schedule to others who want it, and then post each weeks selection on the board, weekly. I'd rather not be in charge because i don't really want to know the schedule in advance - and i obviously will if i'm in charge of it!!! Any takers amongst the pre-schedule people??? If no-one volunteers, i'lll just do the draw on a weekly basis. Or are there any others who want to go with rugirls suggestion of watching them in chronological order??? I'm happy with that way as well. Hahaha, it just gets more & more confusing

I like the random idea - one of the greatest parts of being a Rufus fan is that you have no idea what he is going to be in next. It's exciting finding out! My life has enough routine, order, plans etc - I say lets have a bit of mystery!!

Orrrrr.....at the risk of starting WWIII here.....you could do this instead: Every week you could draw the name of a member (rather than a movie) from a hat and let that person pick one for everyone to watch. Each of us has access to at least of few of his films, so everybody would be able to participate and get to see their favorite movie when it's their turn. It would also keep things random. You'd have to make a few rules, such as "no repeats" and everyone participating would have to post their choice on the specified day... I'm only complicating things here, ain't I? Sorry, Numbat....just trying to help!

Bloody Hell this is absolutely hilarious ! By the time this has gone around and around I've nearly finished watching AKT - Here was me thinking I was going to get left behind. LOL Numbat lets just revert to plan A and you pick one out at random each week. If you pick one that hasn't dropped on the doormat you'll hear about it soon enough ! LOL and I'll just wait until it arrives or the next week whatever. This is supposed to be fun after all. There seem to be more up for random selection - it's your baby numbat why don't you run with it ? This has really made me chuckle. ;D

But i have watched/listened to the commentary version with Paul Bettany. Now i'm a bit freaked out. Well I have watched the commentary from Brian Helgeland and Paul Bettany too but not completly just in parts and I found it very interesting. They talked sometimes about Rufus and how great his performance is and then they talked about legendary partys at Rufus' home with a lot of fun and - their words, not mine - live sex. At 31:23 they start talking about him if you are curious. At 57:15 again. For the movie of the week: I'm in if I have the DVD or can watch it on youtube or something like that.

Ok, you guys officially crack me up!!! In the absense of any volunteers willing to arrange the pre-scheduling, and with a number of people voting for the random version, i think we will stick with that. Just some comments on what people have written above: Lassie, i absolutely agree. I think you hit the nail on the head in two lines, what i was trying to say in all my waffle!!! Jan, i would really like this idea in a different context, but the reason i don't think we should go with it this time, is because i suggested the movie of the week to get us away from watching our favourites all the time. I have a feeling that we'll be watching all the popular works first and then will be left trawling through the less popular ones at the end if we let people suggest their favourite movie. Rugirl, I also really like the chronological idea but in fairness to those who don't have his early stuff, it would probably be better to mix the early in with the later so no-one has to sit out for weeks on end. Maybe we could do this next time around though, because it's something that i would really like to do. I think it would be fascinating!!! If you want to participate in this next time, I'm giving you 34 weeks notice to get hold of his early works - don't say you weren't warned!!! Ok, so this is what i propose for this time round though: 1. I will do the draw at random (so if IASL comes out first it won't be because i fixed it that way, no, absolutely not!!! ) 2. I will post the selection in this thread and also in the specific movie thread on Friday of each week. That will then be the movie that we watch on the following Friday. This gives people a week to source it online or by hiring or whatever, if they don't have it and it is available. I've made it Friday because that gives people the weekend to watch, but in reality it doesn't matter one iota when exactly you watch it. 3. When you've had chance to watch it, post your comments if you have any on the specific thread for that movie. The discussion will probably go over the week so anytime you can join in is fine. Seeing as it's Friday for most of you now (Saturday morning here) i will go and organise my names in a hat and let you know shortly what next weeks movie will be. Hope this is all ok with everyone. ;D

Hahaha, judy - i would have laughed my ass off if IASL did actually come out first. ;D But i gave middle son the honour of drawing out the first name and it was: Charles II Which is absolutely hilarious because that's one of the ones i watch all the time - for obvious reasons!!! So this is what we will be watching next weekend (unless you really want to watch it now of course!!! - maybe i'll just spend all week watching it, in slo mo ) And gives me the opportunity to post my favourite shot (as GE2 likes to point out, i'm nothing if not predictable!!!) C: Aaaah numbat, so you picked me first. I'd expect nothing less. You say it's that Mick person, but i know it's really me you love.....N: No, really Charles, it was completely at random C: Yes........... random.............uh hu..............N: Mmmm, remember you need to behave when you're on the board Charles. I think you should move your hand........No!!! The other way i meant....

Firstly - I'd just like to say thank-you to numbat for sticking with this and secondly Yay Charlie. Charlie Charlie I've been meaning to get around to watching this again for a while. I've only actually seen it once - or maybe it was twice. Now I have the very excuse I need. ;D Judy - I just watched the extended cut of AKT I loved it. I prefer the deleted scenes being in the actual movie. I can't understand why they were cut out in the 1st place. If it aint broke - don't fix it ! It has loads of extras which are also not on the blu-ray version. Now I may just have to buy yet another dvd to get the Paul Betany commentary. Before I buy this please can someone advise is it the ordinary version - or the Directors Cut and does anyone know the difference. Can you describe the box please ? I really don't know why they can't just do 1 version & put everything on it. But then I guess we'd all just buy 1 and not 4. LOL ! ;D

Talk about coincidence... There was a big storm here this evening which knocked out our phone, internet, and cable for hours. So, I decided to watch a DVD. Afterwards I log on here to see what's what and I find that you've drawn Charles II (The Last King) as the first movie...which is the very movie I just watched while waiting for service to be restored!
