Yeh , a lovely film , did find Franco a little bit irritating, pretty enough but I felt I was watching my baby brother. Who wants boys when you can have men namely the green eyed wonder

I've been re-reading these posts, and I think I should view this a second time. The first was on broadcast tv, and they cut it to shreds I'm sure.

I watched it again last night and saw it all in a very different light. Whilst still a little irritated by Franco, the whole story was wonderful and his scenes were not half as bad as I first thought. Such a lovely film.

I think I need to watch T&I again, too. This time, I'll keep an eye out for Henry Cavill. When I saw it the first time I was too busy drooling over Rufus that I didn't even realize that there was another gorgeous (but young) man in the film.

The only thing that I seem to remember b/c it was on at 1 o'clock in the morning, and with the commercial i found myself getting bored with Franco's perf. he spoilt most of the movie for me, but I will take out my copy and watch it through. Only because Ruf is just so damned good in just about anything, I'll give it another go and muddle thru JF.

The second or third time I watched T&I I realized there was another hunk in the movie besides Rufus. Henry Cavill is very sexy, one of the reasons why afterwards I watched "The count of Monte Cristo" with him in it, but he was younger there in the count movie or wasn't as sexy without long hair. I'll definitely will look for another movie made by Cavill to check him out again.

By the way, my favorite Rufus movies so far are T&I and Woodlanders. And they both make me cry in the end, not fair. I bought Woodlanders and Savage Land, but when I have extra money would like to add T&I and hopefully Pillars when it comes out.

I've ordered Tristan and Isolde and waiting for it . . . impatiently. I can hardly wait after reading all the comments about it and I look forward to posting what I think. Will I find Franco's performance wooden? Will I even notice him when I first watch it, or will my eyes, ears and heart be concentrating on Rufus instead.

kiwidi, take a look at the screen caps at www.roofsewell.com/T+I.htm and get a mini-Lord Marke fix before your DVD arrives! I never, ever get tired of looking at these! This is my favorite...

Okay, not fair in getting me all hot and bothered when I have to wait a week, maybe 2 for the DVD. In fact I ordered three others too and I bought them all as a birthday present for myself. My birthday is on the 27th. Now I wonder will I get one of the DVD's so I can watch it on my birthday? ;D Apart from Tristan and Isolde I ordered; Dangerous Beauty Higher Love Charles II

Very nice - you will love ALL of those Di!!!! And i know this is the T&I thread, but if Marke gets you hot & bothered, then Charlie...... ........ will send you right over the edge!!!! Make sure you have a good few hours set aside when you watch Charles II because you'll have to watch the entire mini series from start to finish in one go - i think i finally made it to bed at about 2am!!!!

I watched 'Tristan & Isolde' last night and I'm still not sure what I think of it. After watching 'Charles II' I can't help comparing it. Not as good in my opinion when it comes to the story, the drama, the acting. Not that I'm saying Tristan & Isolde' is bad though. Okay, lets see if I can put in words what I'm feeling about it right now. I was disappointed there was not more of Rufus. He definitely stood out when on screen, whether I feel that way because I'm a fan, or just because he is so good I don't know. James Franco; I'm not impressed. I got tired of his character crying or almost crying all the time. I felt like telling him to do something . . . take action instead of feeling sorry for yourself! I just did not buy it between Sophia and James . . . I didn't see any chemistry and the first kiss seemed so stupid. I think Sophia was alright, so maybe it was Franco's performance. I really need to see this again to figure out what I find wrong with it. It doesn't help with me wondering why the hell Isolde would not dump Tristan and be happy with Marke.
The scenes between Rufus, Franco and Sophia when he was wanting to find out the truth after catching them together was spectacular. Especially the first one with Franco. At first Rufus was speaking calmly and then suddenly he let it rip. It made me jump that is for sure.
