Next to books and Rufus, music is one of my great passions. So I've come up with the idea of putting together a "Rufus Album" with music matching the characters he's played or music he likes (what that is, I still have to find out).
Beside the "Gopher Mambo" for Petruchio and "Annie's Song" ( ... let me die in your arms ...) for Giles I haven't got much yet, though. Maybe some of you would be so kind to give her thoughts on the subject?!

Mmmmmm, that's an interesting idea KMK. I can't wait to hear what everyone comes up with
I've only got a couple of minutes right now and know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but i bought myself the IASL soundtrack for Christmas. It's full of fantastic, soulful, atmospheric music but the two stand out tracks for me are Mick and Evelyn's recurring theme music which plays whenever they have a Moment, such as the love scene in the beach hut - which is interestingly enough called "The Marriage Proposal" ;D - and of course "Begin the Beguine."
To be honest, i can't imagine coming up with any better pieces of music than those two, but i'll try my best!!!

Thanks for your feedback, numbat. How could I forget about "Begin the Beguine"?!

I like the idea - can we put the Zen-intro/outro-music on it as well?
And we need a title, something like Sewell Songs or Sound of Sewell (anyone have better ideas, please?).

I like the idea - can we put the Zen-intro/outro-music on it as well? Of course! Any idea where to find that as a mp3?

I've made the intro out of the first episode into an mp3, now I just have to attach the small outro to the intro without it sounding strange....but maybe there will be an official soundcheck?

I'll be happy to do a first soundcheck if you want me to I'd also like to include the Charles II and Illuminata title music ... Did Rufus ever play the piano in public?

I don't think he has performed but I have read ( I think it was from Snowdon on Stage where the pic of him playing the piano comes from ??) that he has accompanied Tom Jones privately at Soho House. The comment with this was "Every Welsh Woman's Dream". I gladly second that!!! I have 2 discs which I bought after reading he had them His brother's band Grand Union>>Jane Jane (gentle folk ... fav song Hares on the mountain. on my I pod always think of roofie with the first click) Kings of Convenience >>Riot on an Empty Street ( sort of Simon and Garfunkelish ) both very gentle melodic music
The song that makes me think of him is Dinah Washington' "Mad about the boy " Try it and see. I think this should be Rooftop's anthem One line goes "On the silver screen, he melts my foolish heart

What a lovely idea! ^_^
Of course we have to include Jann Arden's "Thing For You" ;D And my personal favorite from Dark City, "Memories of Shell Beach" though you could use just about any of the songs from the soundtrack.

Thank you both! (Maybe we'll have to make it a double album in the end ) Frannie, that sounds very tempting, just like my kind of music! And I'm really stupid - how could I forget the wonderful "Ross' Concert" from "Uncorked"? Having watched AKT yesterday, we also need "We Will Rock You". Love that scene, even if it doesn't have Ruf in it.

Could we have the rap on a separate album? Then I wouldn't have to listen to it!!! (HATE rap!)

Awesome idea KMK!!! I love that notes from Uncorked, the part where Laurie/Lori finally embraced with Ross at the end...eerie and touchie... @frannie : My fav is morning brings the light from Grand Union Rufus and Tom Jones?? I'd love them...I grew up listening to him, Elvis and The Beatles (dad's favs). I actually went to his concert and amazed to how many panties got thrown on the stage, "That's the ritual, my dear..." my husband said!! Picture Ruf singing "It's not unusual to be loved by anyone.." ;D ;D and it isn't on his case...
