Geez, Rueful, you aren't seriously blaming that on me, are you? Actually I do, Rufus, it's getting quite warm in here with you looking at me like that.

Thanks ladies. He's on the mend and had his first physio this week. He's been put on a warning at work though and if he needs to have more time off for anything it could lead to him losing his job. He received a letter today basically saying it was his fault for falling over. The b&$"^%ds !!! Really sorry to hear this Nell. Hope something can be done about it.

Now, normally I'm all for trying to curb human impact on the earth, but since you put it that way, I think I'm going to have to rethink my postition....

Nell, that company really does stink! I may moan about my employers, but I have to say they were very supportive when I broke my wrist. I do hope things work out okay.
Hope you both have a wonderful holiday and can forget about it for a few weeks!

Glad to hear Mr. Nell had a quiet day with his boss gone. I can't believe how poorly they are treating him! I hope he heals up quickly! I enjoyed a quiet day at home today. When I went to bed last night I thought I would wake up to scenes of Winter Wonderland outside my window. Instead of the 1-3" of snow we were promised (or threatened with!) we got 1/4-1/2" of ICE. Yikes. That's much worse. Only people with no sense in their heads left their houses today. Lots and lots and lots of accidents on the roadways happened, so we know a lot of very silly people went out.

Thanks all! It's sunny and dry and thawing out quickly here in Houston today. I've already been out to work out and then to the grocery store. My RuFest has consisted of listening to Dr. Syn again. Every time I hear it, I'm just amazed at Roof's talent. His characters are amazing!

Glad the ice is going in Texas! People will always try to drive when they shouldn't though... The heatwave's finally over in Sydney (thank goodness), but I just heard on the news that there are big bushfires in Perth and other parts of WA Apparently they think at least 20 homes may have been destroyed already. I hope you're not affected Numbat, and any other Rooftoppers out that way!!

As Judy said, ice is pretty dangerous- thick or thin! We got some snowmelts today but quickly as we shoveled away, we discovered that about 3" from the ground was sheet of ice. Off we go to the store for salt, 3 hours and some stores later, we finally found them freshly loaded off the truck. Appearantly many people from NH came down to MA hunting for this most valuable item of the season! Wishing Mr.Nell lots of luck and a speedy recovery!

This morning there are news about bush fires around Perth - does anyone know anything whether Numbat is affected by this? Yes, I heard it too, and many houses were destroyed and damaged, and many people were evacuated. Numbat, I hope that you and your family are okay.
