Today I received an answer from the German ZDF:
Unfortunately they still cannot tell when Zen will be broadcasted. But they will publish the broadcast dates in due time in press and previews.....
What a silly bunch! They have an excellent season and don't air it!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHH!!!!
They are SO stupid!
(At least they seem to have finished synchronisation, though. That this was still ongoing was their previous standard answer.)

Just seen this in the mirror on the 29 4 2011. WHODUNIT? WHO AXED THE.. terrific TV series starring Rufus Sewell as Italian detective Aurelio Zen, watched by 6 million viewers? New bbc controller Danney Cohen did,as he thinks there are :too many: male detectives on screen. This must be the first time a telly mogul has scrapped a show because it;s too popular. What a prat. Thats the quote with a picture of Rufus alongside. Thanks for posting that quote, Fudge! Perfect! Here's a link to the Mirror page. www.mirror.co.uk/news/columnists/routledge/2011/04/29/whodunnit-for-aurelio-zen-115875-23093351/It looks like the page doesn't have any Facebook or Twitter recommendations, so if anyone belongs to either of those sites, please consider linking it (or whatever term you hip people call it ).

@ KMK: maybe they were just ashamed to repeat the same answer - I had asked about their progress in dubbing Zen

No, that's from the start of the year, Wichi - it says Week 1. We're on week 19 now.
I wish you were right, though - but somehow I think a certain person would veto any attempt to repeat it!

And yet another individual journalist supporter, Simon Hoggart in The Guardian: I've been watching some of the host of new cop shows on TV. (The BBC says it has scrubbed Zen because it wants more women detectives. Well, many of the women I know think that Rufus Sewell is quite all right to be going to on with. You might as well say: "Men aren't interested in watching Scarlett Johansson. They want to see burly chaps pouting on TV…")www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2011/may/07/simon-hoggart-week-wine-royal-weddingNot much comfort, but it's good to know that so many in the industry think DC got it badly wrong!

Well, that's at least something! (And it's nice to see that Zen has a lot of male fans, too.)
