Thanks for finding and posting these articles GE2 and wichiwoman!! Its good to know that there are lots of people around the world that are still missing Zen and criticising DC. I am still hopeful!!

It would be nice if DC got the axe. Wish someone over him would step in and save Zen. He made a very quick and very poor choice to cancel. I tried to e mail Andy Harries again but it failed. Hope he is still trying to find Zen a new home!

Thanks for the articles, GE2. Loved the bit by Mr Hoggart! Even if nothing comes of it, there's some satisfaction in all the Cohen bashing.
I'm with you, Robela. I hope it will get good reviews in the US when it airs on PBS. PBS has been careful not to mention that the show was not recommissioned, so I'm hoping there will be plenty of outrage when US viewers find out after it airs.

Hope so Robela.
Only the weathermen can keep their jobs when they are wrong most of the time! Hope DC continues to get some heat for his wrong decision. Not that I am bitter or anything!

Yes, I notice it's being promoted as a mini-series - and presumably it'll be shown over consecutive nights. Let's hope a lot of viewers demand more!

American TV is over saturated with procedural type detectives shows (CSI, NCIS,Criminal Minds & Law & Order) and reality TV. I think the viewing public will find Zen to be a breath of fresh air as I did. I almost never watch American TV (probably why I never heard of Eleventh Hour) but if more shows like this (and anything with Roof) were on the tube I might become a faithful viewer.

I agree whole-heartedly with you, dolcegattina. I live in SC, and I hardly ever watch TV anymore, because, to put it bluntly, it sucks. At least HBO should pick up Zen! I know not everyone has satellite or dish network, but anything that's ever been on HBO (as far as I've heard) has always done really well, regardless of its ratings. Heck, AMC could even pick it up. Look how well Mad Men's been doing!

I never watch tv either...for the most part, it's totally inane....(and I'm kicking myself that I missed Eleventh Hour, also). That being said, I'm not sure that there is anyone stateside in television that is smart enough to pick up Zen either.

I think the lack of response says no one cares if the series is about detectives if the series is a quality series. And judging from the clubbing Mr. Cohen is taking, he removed the wrong detective show. As I have previously stated, he is an idiot.

Perhaps DC's significant other was 'Rufus struck' and he's jealous!!!

You know, for most new shows, and returning major shows, the BBC provides an online press-pack. They never did for Zen - it struck me at the time that that was strange, but I do wonder if Cohen had made the decision before Zen even aired and that was why.
As a new controller, it was reported he wanted to stamp his "imprint" on the channel - and not continuing with Zen looks like an early decision in line with that. Pity the audience figures and very positive reviews didn't change his mind.
