The tweet robela mentioned got one comment on FB that made me laugh:
I would rather watch Rufus Sewell cleaning his toilet than watch x factor/strictly come dancing/big brother. Hell, I'd even pop round and clean it for him!
;D

Had an unexpected evening on my own last night, M(o)B had to go out; the offspring either in bed or doing their own thing; so I watched Ratking again. (Maybe yet again is more appropriate as I have watched it several times ) There is nothing quite as good as watching Roofie-baby on your own and in the dark. I still cannot believe how Danny Cohen can justify axeing this show. Each time I watch I notice more. How beautifully it is filmed, the acting , little phrases, expressions, the subtle humour. And OMG....ZEN. I am a Petruchio-lover of the first order but Zen is pure unadulterated Sex.... maybe that should be impure. ....and we are to be denied any more. Excuse me while I go and kick something in place of Mr. Cohen.

Really hated to see that response from Left Bank. Had hoped they could work some magic. Know how you feel Robela!!!! Thanks Kygal! I know its how we all feel! I got a very nice email from Left Bank Films thanking me for enthusing about Zen and saying basically what their statement said but also thanking me for all my encouraging words on their facebook group and saying they hope I can find another Left Bank Production that fills me with the same enthusiasm. They just don't understand how magical Zen and Rufus are together. I don't think I will ever feel so strongly about another programme ever. I feel the public have been shortchanged! There are other fb pages still all looking for other ways to get more Zen made. They are mainly fans from USA who are writing to all the American tv companies etc. My view is that it isn't going to happen and even if it did it wouldn't quite be the same as it was produced and adapted by Left Bank! I hope I am proved wrong but I don't think so. I am so glad that it has proved so popular in the USA. Well done you girls. We are not wrong it is the best thing since sliced bread!!! I really hate DC.

Well said Robela, that is what every one is thinking Rufas and Zen is like strawberries and icecream, Zen was just pure magic I hope dc loses his job. It just makes me so sad that we may not see Zen again.

I think the problem with trying to get another production company to take this on (and then persuade a network to finance it) is that Left Bank probably still hold the rights. If so, I'd have thought they would have tried every avenue open to them to try to get it picked up elsewhere. Maybe the economic times are against it right now - who know, things might change in a few years' time. The thing to remember is that Rufus's career didn't start or end with Zen. The (huge) positive that he and us can take from this is that the plaudits the series received must have raised his profile substantially - the fact that he has since had two projects under his belt and possible a third (PL) shows that his name and face are out there (and who knows what else he was offered that he turned down?), so it won't only have been new fans who have noticed him. Film-makers, too!

I agree GE2 He has been in ALVH and Hotel Noir (internet or not it is a project), The Sea appears to be filming and I keep hoping for PL but I get a little less hopeful each day. But that would absolutely be wonderful if it happened and I do agree that others have noticed his talent. And that is very good news

I agree with that too GE2. As Rufus has said he is proud of Zen and would rather be proud of the three films made than make more of lesser quality (in these restrictive times if cost is one of the causes). Rufus has obviously moved on and is enjoying other projects which we can look forward to and like you say, we can all feel proud of what he achieved with Zen and hopefully the accolades it will gain which will be very well deserved by all the cast.

Just looked at the nominations for the national TV Awards. No Zen and no Rufus!!!!!

I think this is expected. I do not believe that BBC would tolerate having that program nominated and let alone win. This what makes TV TV. It is the same issue we have in the US. The major networks successfully block any effort award any show that they have deemed unfit.
So do not get too upset about this. Just look at it this way Rufus has done two movies ALVH and Hotel Noir and is going to make a third and has been offered plays in London. I think that is very good news for him.
