I think I might have to have my fangirl card revoked! How could I forget a "Zen in bed" scene? That's alarming indeed You will have to atone for that somehow. I think re-watching that scene a hundred times might be adequate. O.M.G. Not only does she have to rewatch it 100 times, she must do some kind of cap-it too. ;D Thank you, Prairiegirl!

Hi keftiugirl, My Region 2 DVD from the BBC says 262 minutes, and has the full episodes. The PBS Region 1 DVD on the shopPBS site says it's 266 minutes, so the US PBS DVD version should be complete episodes also. (Don't know why there is 4 minutes difference between the two.) The only reason there are cuts on the episodes PBS is airing is so they can include their promos/commercials at the beginning and end of the 90 minutes they are allowing for each episode. The scenes aren't really "deleted" scenes as are commonly known for feature-length films. I just noticed what was missing when I watched on PBS compared to what I knew to be on the DVD. They only clipped what they aired to fit the time allowed. But for Cabal, I watched the DVD on my computer as it was airing on PBS, so it was easier to see what they cut for time. The episodes on the DVDs are complete and uncut. prairiegirl that showed some commitment. Watching the dvd and the tv at the same time It's great to see Zen getting so much attention in the US. Perhaps if there's enough noise made about the bits that were cut everyone will go and buy the dvd and Andy Harries will have enough money in his sock to pay for a new series to be made . Wichi - surely your husband knows that every self respecting woman can run without a wardrobe malfunction?

Well, i noticed the "phone-call-in-bed" scene in Cabal was missing instantly! (I guess my fan-girl status just shot way up there, huh?!) I was shocked they would cut it out completely after just a few minutes into the show. That's when I decided I needed to check out the DVD along with what was being aired. They trimmed a lot more of just a few seconds here and there, mostly during the driving scenes and transitions. Most were totally unnoticeable except if you were tracking along with the DVD. They did better this time, but still, it's a crime to edit out Rufus anytime he's under the sheets!

Must've been a man doing the editing! I bet you're right! And it's really a pity that they cut off some scenes, even if it's only the driving scenes - it's also a cut from the atmosphere of Rome which makes Zen (among other things) so special compared with other stuff shown on tv....

One question.....the reviewer refers to Colonna's brother as Gianni.....am I wrong, I thought his name was Mossimo, hence the clue about the initials on the bag MOC relating to the initials in the datebook AOC.....
Maybe I'm in my alternate universe again??

Thanks for the link to the blog, Welshdragon. Very nice review. You're right, Rumantic (although that doesn't mean you aren't living in some beautiful Zen alternate universe ). His name was Massimo. But in the imdb credits he's listed as Massimo/"Gianni", so maybe at some point he gave a fake name and it was edited out. That's alarming indeed You will have to atone for that somehow. I think re-watching that scene a hundred times might be adequate. O.M.G. Not only does she have to rewatch it 100 times, she must do some kind of cap-it too. ;D I apologize again to The Rooftop for missing (or rather not missing) the wake-up-in-bed scene. Kate, I like your idea for penance. Will do. Wichi, you are just trying to stir up more Jacob/Zen trouble, aren't you?!

Hi everyone! This is Ruth from the Booktalk & More blog. I wanted to thank welshdragon for linking to my Zen review (http://booktalkandmore.blogspot.com/2011/07/zen-cabal.html) and for everyone's visits and kind comments! As to rumantic's question about Gianni - since he called himself that for most of the episode, before it was revealed that he was actually Massimo, Colonna's brother, I kept his alias in my review.

Ah, I see....I must've missed that he called himself Gianni....I only heard the Massimo bit. (The sound was still pretty muddy. When I watched it on the iplayer I had my headphones on....)
So it is true that I was living in my alternate universe after all!

Hi Ruth, welcome to the Rooftop - I loved your reviews of both episodes - totally agree with all your comments! I haven't watched Zen for a while but your review made me get re-aquainted with Aurelio yesterday (As far as anyone else in the house is concerned I was ironing - for 3 hours!!)
