It's interesting that it's not the danger of the assignments or the duplicitous politics that PBS is advertising so heavily to sell the series to us Yankees. It's sex. Not that the idea of Rufus and sex is not interesting ;D.

I would think not. There's really nothing in there that would raise the eyebrows of the modern American viewer. I wonder if they will put in a notice before that says "Yep, some of 'em sound like Brits, some don't."

It will be edited. The time slot for Masterpiece Mystery is 90 minutes, but that includes the Masterpiece intro and the ending credits. I know that Foyle's War and Sherlock had 10 minutes edited out - so I expect that Zen will suffer the same fate. I've already emailed PBS to protest the editing they do on the BBC stuff they broadcast.

Starts on 17 July... although I couldn't find anything about it on the PBS site. PBS Masterpiece/Mystery is like that lately, although I don't know why. We used to get a full 8 or 9 months of Masterpiece and of a separate series, Mystery, and the schedule was issued fairly early. Now because of budget cuts, three different elements (Masterpiece Classic in winter/spring, Masterpiece Mystery in spring/summer, and Masterpiece Contemporary in fall) share a Sunday time slot at different times of the year, and they don't release the schedule for the next genre until they're well into the current one. For example, they didn't release the Classic schedule until December, and it debuted Jan 2nd. And Joyce exactly is right, they will cut about 10 minutes of Zen, for the intros she mentioned as well as time to air their stupid PBS commercials to tell me to watch the show I'm already watching. (But I'm not bitter or anything. ;D) On the plus side, when it airs I will finally be able to watch it on the big tv screen, so thank you PBS!

Watching the preview, I'm home alone so I seriously shouted out loud, "The desk! The desk!" And then at the end, "Nooo, don't give the desk joke away!"

Oh, but I loved Hueber's face when Aurelio said that (He probably dropped his boxes after the elevator doors hat closed )

Posted by annachibi on Mar 8, 2011, 8:45pmIt may be nice to see it on the trailer, but it's really a pity that they are not aware that doing this they ruin one of the best and final gags of Ratking
