Oh yes, those photos of Seth (The only thing I missed in the film was a little outlook at Seth the film star - would have loved to see him once more.) I loved the clash of classes, too. The mother-in-law's way of looking down her nose at all the merry Starkadders.

I watched the end credits hoping they would show a "trailer" for one of Seth's movies or something! But other than that minor disappointment, this movie is a gem! It's great for cheering yourself up on a rotten day.

I could have sworn that there's some one below Rueful (can't remember who) posting a cute caps of Seth & Mum....where'd they dissapear to???
Anyhow, indeed agree about the outlook of Hollywood Seth; I thought there'd be an extra scene with Seth sorrounded by those actresses in the pictures....sort of "Who's admiring who now" closure ;D

They did a good job with casting Seth and Reuben, they could really be brothers with the hair and noses and dark stubble.

Looking forward to seeing this one - It just shipped out via Netflix to me today, so I should have it tomorrow! And I just got my Amazon order of Eleventh Hour and Middlemarch - think a Rufathon (a couple of them!) is in my future! It's tough trying to play it cool so my hubby and boy won't start thinking I'm COMPLETELY off my rocker! ;D ;D

Hello girls, I just can't resist after reading your posts -- I must watch the story of this Farm -- today I found it on ytb finally ! And an "old" note on the young RS from Entertainment Weekly, titled Tidings of ''Comfort'' and JoyName: Rufus Sewell. Age: 28. Don't Miss: His droll turn as Seth Starkadder, a rural Rudolph Valentino who loves the lassies — and adores the movies — in Cold Comfort Farm. Last Seen: As Carrington's frustrated paramour. Recent Activities: Stocked up on English-language videos on the Rome set of Marshall Herskovitz's The Honest Courtesan — to guard against the ''bald men and trampolining'' on Italian TV. Next Up: Fortinbras in Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet and a vicious cardsharp with a sweet tooth in the film adaptation of Joseph Conrad's Victory. Aspirations: ''To be able to play any part that's thrown at me.'' Career Advice: ''I'd love to see him use that sharp wit in more contemporary material,'' says Donna Isaacson, senior VP of casting at Twentieth Century Fox. ''He lends himself so well to period pieces because of those soulful eyes, but this is a very modern young man who [could] get his hands around some modern material, and modern women.'' Kind of a clairvoyance, isn't it? here's the link: www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,292898,00.html PS: I'm sorry if it's not the right place for reviews or links, I haven't found better

I just watched this on youtube! I'm starting to get ridiculously redundant. Every time I watch a Rufus film for the first time I say the same thing. Well, here I go again! I LOVED IT! And again, not just because of Rufus. The entire cast was great, and the movie was just fantastic! So funny!
And yes, Seth was just about delicious.
This is another I'd like to buy. My list is growing!

It may be redundant, but it's hard to argue with you! This is one of my favorite movies ever, with or without Rufus. So funny, and the cast is perfect.
