My parents watched this one tonight and they absolutely loved it (I knew they would, as I've been telling them for about 5 months now ;D ). My mum let out a very audible "oooh!" when she saw Rufus at the water pump ;D I laughed and said "I told you!" Gretchenpc, don't worry about sounding redundant. To hear that someone loves a Rufus work is always good no matter how often it's said!

I watched CCF with my husband last night. At the wash at the pump scene I couldn't help but say: "Wish I had a view like that." And he asked whether I meant the water pump... I know, it's hard for our men, sometimes ;D

Been a bit undecided whether to buy this or not,but finally ordered it a few days ago. After reading this I am really glad that I did even though I have just seen that it is on the Yesterday channel on Easter Sunday I believe. If it is this good I will be wanting to watch over and over again as I do everything else that Rufus does.

Sorry boys and girls - my mistake!!! I was thrown 'cos I caught the beginning and it didn't start the same way as my DVD. I have a Scandinavian version which was the only one available at the time. I've just switched over while searching for something else and saw Rufus saying farewell to the cow!!!

This is a bit déjà vu as my last post re this film was about it being on Yesterday channel at Easter and it is being shown on Yesterday again this Friday , June 8 at 3pm, 1995 version. At the time I stated that I was waiting for my DVD to be delivered but I watched it on TV, couldn't wait to see Rufus of course. Now I have to admit that comedy really is not my thing. Rufus was gorgeous of course, when isn't he, but honestly don't know how I saw this through to the end, though I did persevere. My DVD duly arrived and I promptly sent it back unopened, because I knew that I would not want to watch it again.I wanted to watch this film because I know that Rufus has stated on many occasions that he loves to play comedy parts. I will add here that I have watched TOTS and Martha meet Frank etc. and have thoroughly enjoyed them having watched TOTS more than once, I think it was hilarious . I just think that CCF is really not my type of film, I had the same problem with the radio play that was on recently , I tried both episodes, but did not manage more than about ten minuted each time. I'm sure it was really just the genre. HOWEVER. I have set this to record once again ,I am going to give it another chance, I know we can't all love the same things, but maybe I missed something last time. How's that for loyalty.

Brave of you Jamolivej - I saw the orginal broadcast and was unsure of it at the time, but I have grown to love it over time.It clearly shows how period [30's] humour can seem strange to us post war adults

Brilliant Hilarious movie! Why don't people put our darling RS in more comedies??? He was a scream in this! At the risk of being too hopeless.... I saw this movie years ago and just somehow ( through temporary insanity maybe) I didn't register it was Rufus at the time... A riot! RS has a wonderful west country accent. My mother refers to him as "a gypsy... the sort people told you to avoid ..." (Silly woman!) So all I have to say is "Mum - go watch Zen - the gypsy is in it" - she's off like a flash! My mother can be wise sometimes...

I was joking with my mother today - chatting about some work I 'll be doing at the local film festival next month - well - anyway the topic moved around to CCF ...we were talking about Rufus and I mentioned that he was half Welsh. ;D My mother sighed "Oh - those beautiful beautiful beautiful Welshmen" I think she's now officially become an honorary Fan Lady (rather than a girl) -although I'm fairly certain she prefers to think of him as a gypsy!
