I would love to meet up with you Judy. But, as much as I love Rufus,having been lucky enough to see him live in Rock 'n' Roll, I'm not sure that I could sit all the way through Rock 'n' Roll without seeing the real thing as it were.
The V and A only used to have small individual TV's to watch plays on, maybe it's on big screen now.
Anyway, see what happens closer to the date, but it would be nice to meet you and most days are okay at the moment.

Yaaay, maybe Dippy, Lassie & Anniem will be there, too!?! It's starting to look as though Saturday, 1 October is the best day for the most people. Still haven't heard back from the V&A. I'm wondering if they even will do a group viewing on a weekend. (And, anniem, the group viewings are in the Sackler Centre on a big(ger) screen, not on the individual little TVs at the Olympia archives.) So, who knows if the group viewing will work out. And even if it does, I'm sure we could also do an "after party!" and meet up for tea or at a pub or ...  |

In the pic you can see about half of the screen on which the video is shown at the Sackler Auditorium so it is about 10 times the size of the small screens at the Olympia.   I hope they do the viewings also on Saturday. Just to mention again, as far as I remember the cost is 75£ for the use of the auditorium - so the more we are the cheaper it would be. |

Ooh, thank you Zenina for that visual image of how big the screen is! I'll give the V&A until the end of the day tomorrow to answer my e-mail. Then, I'll try a different e-mail. It may be that with the summer tourist crowds, the booking office is overwhelmed.

Yaaaay, Dippy!! I finally get to meet Dippy I heard back from the V&A this morning. Apparently they have several different spaces in which they show videos. The price quoted was 60 pounds. They wanted to know how many people in our group (I said six as of now, but it might go up to eight) and they wanted to have three possible dates (I gave them only one!). I guess I'll soon find out if they do group showings on Saturdays! I also told them that 10:30 a.m. (the earliest start time) would be ideal. That way we could see the video and then meet up with the others (who were lucky enough to see the play live in 2006!) for lunch. Cross your fingers.

Bad news. I'm going to have to change the dates of my trip. One of my employees just informed me that she will be having surgery on August 22 and be out of the office for about six weeks. I can't be out of the office at the same time as her for any extended period since she and I are the only people qualified to handle certain responsibilities. Oh, the joys of being a manager. I'll keep you posted and as soon as I know what the new dates are, I'll let you know. |
