I've been trying to think of someone who fits both clues--never worked with him before and gangster film. I feel like the latter clue lets out Hugh Grant, Hugh Laurie, and Hugh Bonneville. ;D So I'm sticking with Clive Owen* or possibly Tim Roth.
*Clive Owen should be Welsh too. Apparently he's not, but he just should be.

There are several candidates who'd get those hormones running wild

What great news! Gangster film.....keeping fingers crossed that he won't be the only eye candy! I remember liking The Newton Boys - Matthew McConnaughey and Skeet Ulrich!

I'm adding Robert Carlyle into the mix. I'd be happy to see RS with Christian Bale (though CB is a Welsh...) Oh, but Welsh is Brit, too!

is there a bet going on?

I think this ought to be a contest. Who is the actor!!! Now we need one of your briliiant ladies to fugre out a prize. "No long nights with Rufus". That would only start another thread!!!
But I did not know Robert Downey Jr. was a Brit.

Frankly, I'm not sure - being German the name sounded British to me.....

Robert Downey Jr has done some films with a British accent, but he's American.

I'd love to see both Rufus and Orlando Bloom in a film, but my information is that Orlando Bloom is/will be on film shooting in New Sealand for quite some time .....so I don't think this may come true.....pity...
