Isn't 2 p.m. UK time 3 p.m. German time? (Or am I totally addle-brained after two weeks on holiday?) Anyway, Rufus for Christmas sounds gorgeous. Even if I'm not sure if I'll manage to duck out of the family celebration - I'll enjoy some nice quiet time with Rufus a little later

BBC Radio 4 has a blurb with a little bit more about the program now: www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2011/52/england-their-england.htmlEngland Their England
Sunday 25 December
2.00-3.00pm
BBC RADIO 4
Martin Jarvis directs a glittering cast in this joyous version of the classic comic novel, England Their England.
The cast includes Ian Hislop, Alfred Molina, Rufus Sewell, Ioan Gruffudd, Michael York and Jill Gascoine.
In this classic 1930s comic novel, a young Scot, Donald Cameron, invalided from the Western Front in 1918, finds himself commissioned to write a book about the eccentricities of the English - through 'a foreigner's eyes'.
An enthusiastic innocent abroad, Donald encounters an array of richly comic characters. He attends an absurd country house weekend, enjoys drinks with Fleet Street hacks, attempts book-reviewing, visits The League of Nations as an MP's private secretary and, memorably, plays village cricket.
Dramatised by Archie Scottney Tony Curran is Donald Cameron, Ioan Gruffudd is Evan Davies, Ian Hislop is Mr Hodge, Alfred Molina is Tommy Huggins, Rufus Sewell is Rupert Harcourt, Michael York is Mr Bloomer and Jill Gascoine is Gwennie.
Director/Martin Jarvis for Jarvis and Ayres Productions
Producer/Rosalind Ayres for Jarvis and Ayres Productions
At last, Rufus really is Rupert! ;D

That's always a perfect excuse ;D Thanks for finding the additional info, rueful! At last, Rufus really is Rupert! I loved that radio interview when the host called him that and then asked if he knew anyone called Rupert. "Yes ... but that doesn't make me Rupert!"

Hmm, so for us USA Rooftoppers that would make it 9:00 am EST, 8:00 am CST? Not to bad - breaksfast over and the presents opened, so I can maybe take a little Rufus-break.

Thanks for that, Rueful. Not so sure the name's a good move - he'll be Rupert forever now for some (silly!) people.

How do we record this? I want to at least try just in case I'm unable to listen to all of it (does anyone know how long it is?) or will some of you insanely generous ladies be offering recordings of it via PM upon request as you've done before?
