Dear Angelo, Voiceover and Saturday Rooftop girls. Having a bit of a nightmare here. Harry was seriously unwell for one of his GCSE exams. The poor boy sat through the exam with stomach cramps and had vomited after finishing exam. Took him to the doctor as he was feeling feverish and faint. Doctor diagnosed Viral Gastroenteritis. Harry's condition didnot improve so missed his final exam. Not sure what the protocol is in these instances. Headmaster contacting Board of Education to see what can be done. Yesterday Mr O came down with the same symptoms and now today, poor Dylan. Just myself left and my daughter, Layla. Thinking of painting a red cross on the house to warn people not to go near!!! So ladies it looks I will not be making the meet up on Saturday. Have a great time, I am sure you will Will be thinking of you all on Saturday, take lots of photos and raise a drink. Cheers to Rooftop girls. Love Ophelia xxxx

Dear Ophelia, missed this note until just now and I feel dreadful -- first of all for your poor family. I do hope everyone is much improved and those of you who were still healthy at the time of the writing will stay in good shape. We will miss you so much -- which is the second reason I feel dreadful. The only solution is to do this all again as soon as possible (and I will tell my family and my employer that as soon as I get back home.) Please know how much you will be missed and take good care of yourselves. I hope, at the very least, you can comfort yourself with Rufus' vampire-y thing. He is so cool in the hat!!! Perfect eyes, perfect nose, perfect ears, perfect cheek bones, perfect hair, PERFECT HANDS (just in case anyone is likely to forget), perfect lips, perfect chin, perfect back view (ahem!) and now perfect hat to top it all off!!!

Oh no, another exam scare for poor Harry? This simply has to get sorted. Fingers crossed for him, and I hope you haven't caught the bug yourself and your boys get well soon!

Just arrived back home in Winchester after a great day out with some of the Rooftoppers. First of all here are a couple of photos: Front to back left: robela, anniem, voiceover right : lassie, anglophile, jamolivej We arrived at the venue from 11am onwards and voiceover was there to greet us. She kindly treated us to teas and coffees and then we started to chat about out man Rufus! We discussed Abraham Lincoln film and hoped that we would see more of Roof's recent projects soon. Then we went on to discuss his earlier work and all our favourites. Dinner was at 12.40pm. We decided to go for the set menu and enjoyed potato cakes, followed by chicken stir fry or mackeral and for most of us a dessert of either summer pudding or chocolate cheesecake. Washed down with a complimentary glass of chablis, though some of us were offered two glasses by those who decided to abstain from alcohol! Over dinner we continued to discuss Rufus, but also had time to talk a little about ourselves. We enjoyed listening to voiceovers stories about her life in the theatre, as writer/director! Then we retired to the lounge for more drinks and voiceover and anglophile shared something about the books they are writing. Lassie left around 4pm and I left around 5pm. The others could still be there !

Aww! I love this!! You all look so lovely! I'll really have to try and organize a Rooftop meet-up the next time I'm there too. I hate that I didn't have time for one when I visited last summer. You sound like you all had fun (and how could you not when the subject of conversation is all things Rufusy? ;D )

Coupled with time spent with Nell two weeks ago, this Rooftop meet-up was the loveliest part of my London adventure. I will always treasure the wonderful afternoon and will remember that I cannot possibly be totally insane with regards to Rufus, because so many lovely, intelligent and charming other ladies share my views entirely. You have no idea how reassuring that is!! We talked about all of you in the most endearing terms, laughing about some of the things you've shared and wistfully wishing we could have shared some of your adventures with Rufus and simply being happy you share your lives and times. As Voiceover pointed out -- Rufus in wonderful, but it's not just him that draws us all together. The Rooftop is a special place to be because of each of you. A special thanks to Anniem for posting the photos (and even though there is a glass of wine near my hand, I did not imbibe -- given the giddy nature of my last sipping adventure). We discovered we share more than Rufus devotion, as a group. Most of us are tech-shy, as well, so it was great to have someone along who could handle the little chore of making our images public. Thanks, too, for Voiceover's efforts in securing our wonderful location. They put up with us charmingly from about 10:30 until sometime close to 7 (or at least, that's when I had to leave. Robela and Voiceover may still be partying, for all I know!) What fun to laugh and reminisce and ooh-and aah over Rufus while being surrounded by military men. If only they had been in uniform (sigh!) I believe another meet-up is being planned for the future, so if you have holiday time coming up, you might want to check in for the details. And thanks to the wonderful ladies who made the afternoon and the one spent with Nell and Sarah so perfect. I don't know when I've laughed so much or been so delighted with the company or learned so much in such a short time. The special American meet-up just prior to this adventure is the only comparable time -- so I've been triple-y blessed with Rufus-wonder!!! Having the photos from those 3 times with your lovely faces is a treat, but I don't really need them to remember the fun times we had. Those are written on my heart. Forever.
