Ophelia, wanted to say we hope your family is completely well now and that you escaped the scourge and have recovered from nursing duties. We missed you -- as we did all of you who were unable to be with us -- but it was really hard to give Ophelia up when we knew she had been so looking forward to the day.

Ah, what lovely ladies!  Sounds as if you had a fabulous time together - I'm sure Rufus's ears must have been burning, in the nicest possible way! I'm glad you had such a good day together, and am sorry I for one couldn't share it. Maybe another time! Thank you Anniem for the pics, and all of you for the reports. Thank you for your comments. Pleased that you liked the photos. Hope it won't be long till another rooftop meetup, as Lassie said, if only the next one would be to see Rufus in a play!!!

Just wanted to say I really enjoyed the London meet-up. It was a pleasure to meet you all and have that delicious lunch plus a complimentary glass of wine and some of Angophile's too ;D.
The surroundings were fantastic - thank you voiceover - brilliant choice of venue. I would have liked to stay longer - never mind, but I did get home with no long delays or travel hitches.
Thanks for posting the photos Anniem - I won't ask my daughter to post my two as they will be the same as yours! It was very kind of that waiter to take photos for us all, one after the other.
Hope everything is ok at home now Ophelia and you didn't get the tummy bug.
It was a lovely day - lovely food - lovely company!!!
(Thinking about it, the meet-ups would make a good story line for any of you budding authors out there)

I want to thank all the lovely ladies who attended the meeting. We had a lovely time. It was wonderful to meet other Rooftoppers and to discuss Rufus all day. I reiterate Anniem's words, it was a beautiful hotel, we were treated exceptionally well by the staff and the lounges and dining room were really elegant and comfortable. The meal was excellent too and the wine! Thank you voiceover for your wonderful hospitality and the other ladies who all contributed to make a wonderful day. Thank you anniem for posting the pictures. Thank you Anglophile for initially arranging this meeting and it was lovely to meet you all the way from Tennessee! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Gt Britain and I hope you can return before too long to attend another Rooftop Meeting. |

Just like to share with you all the joy of meeting up with fellow R/toppers in London on Saturday. Within minutes of meeting we were chatting like old friends, all there with the same purpose, to spend time with like minded people, who all share the the love and admiration of Rufus and his work. We chatted about how and when we first discovered Rufus, films we have seen and the ones we still want to see, our favourite works of his and of course who had seen ALVH and their opinions. Also we are all excited about all his new projects and looking forward to them being released. We all got on so well and I so enjoyed being in the company of these lovely friendly ladies. We also chatted about the boards and how much we enjoy our time reading and posting, the conversation just flowed we were all so comfortable with each other. The venue was perfect, we could just sit and chat for hours which we did. We have all vowed to meet up again and hopefully have the pleasure of any other R/toppers who can make any future meet ups , or if anyone else can instigate any future meet ups we will all be on the alert. I hope this 'discuss Rufus' thing was thoroughly and competently carried out. ;D We did do a competent job of it Adina but 'practice makes perfect' so we will have to have more meetings with as many Rooftoppers as possible. I know you live a very very long way away Adina, but if there is ever the possibility of you visiting London?? And Kate, it would be great to arrange a meeting if you can ever make a trip to London.  |
