We hadn't seen THAT particular article, though, Zenina! So thank you for adding it to the thread! I just noticed in one of the many links in my Google Alert that Alan Tudyk (from A Knight's Tale!) will be playing the leader of the Southern vampires! Sounds like he'll be Roof's boss this time around!

Thanks, Zenina.
Now I'm in a bind - do I read the book so I can grumble with Judy and Nell, or do I hold out until after I've seen the film, but then have 15 months of resisting spoiler buttons? Decisions, decisions!

Well, I just bought a Kindle copy so it'll be downloading once I get home and turn on the wi-fi! There is NO WAY I could wait 15 months trying to avoid plot spoilers! I really want to see what the Adam character is like in the book so I can see if I can imagine Rufus making a "brutal and violent" vampire (to use one Amazon reviewer's phrase) even remotely sympathetic.

I'm with you Judy - I've got the book on order. No way I could spend 15 months selectively reading the Rooftop. This is so, so, exciting! Glad to hear that he's got work and work that features in a major fashion.

Well all I can say is I hope this is a good movie because if it really is strange and silly this will not be good for him. I am not that enthusiastic yet. I am history buff and this ladies sounds a little silly

I do recall mentioning or maybe thinking Vampire as a role I would like to see Rufus play. Probably while sitting through the Twilight saga with my daughter (shes team Edward). Never thought that would come true! Filming in March...is that next March or this past one...or did I miss that? Very excited to hear he has new work to look forward to...even if it means a steak thru the heart! Sounds interesting eventhough he is a villain again. But he is great at it! Happy dance!!

News of work is always good! I was a bit apprehensive about this when I saw it was a vampire film (it's being done to death what with Twilight, True Blood, etc), but at least this sounds like it has a bit of a different spin on it. And I do like Tim Burton, so hopefully his involvement makes it more interesting.
But on a different level (grown up thinking aside), yay for news/a new movie with what sounds like a good-sized role!!!

This is great news....Nawlins is one of my favorite places, but I'm usually too hung over to wait in line at Cafe du Monde for a bignet But there is one thing. I just finshed reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (and yes, it's really good and very funny) but it's by Steve Hockensmith, not Seth Grahame-Smith. Hopefully this is the only un-truth in this article??

THIS IS SO OMG OMG OMG I HAVE NO WORDS I've been eyeing those books for a long time. I'll definitely have to go read this one now! I'm so so happy Rufus is getting to do another comedy! SO EXCITED!! Edit: It looks like some places report the director as being Timur Bekmambetov and some as Tim Burton. You think that's an error? Does anybody know for sure which one it is?

Would like to join in a sensible conversation, but I HAVE NO WORDS. Rufus........... vampire........... I know some people look down their nose at the vampire phenomenon, but there is nothing sexier. NOTHING. And Rufus will be the sexiest of them all. We've always known it!! Rufus.......... vampire........... big screen............ 3D............. OMFG
