Sewell will do battle with Benjamin Walker who, as SHOWBLITZ first reported in January, will play the 16th president. There's more on Variety, but I can't access that. If he's been told off for taking off make-up too soon, is he filming already?
(Guess the girl on Twitter who thought she saw him in London today was wrong)

According to the New Orleans Film & Video office website, filming started March 14 and is set to wrap on May 30. That'll give him plenty of time to eat a lot of po-boys and muffalettas. (Maybe the girl saw Joaquin Phoenix instead.)

I can definitely see Rufus wandering the French Quarter with his camera, stopping off at Cafe du Monde for a quick coffee and beignet.
Hmmm. It's only a 5 1/2 hour drive from Houston. If I had a way of knowing for sure I could meet him, I'd be planning my road trip right now!

So filming began mid-March, but we know he was in the UK then, and in LA at the weekend, so maybe he's only just started shooting his scenes? GE2 - what made you think the twitter spotter was in London ? She says she thought she saw him in Piccadilly: twitter.com/DivineDecadent/statuses/57846859162595328 (then an hour later talks of walking from Knightsbridge to Islington)

Great news Do we have this already or is it the same source gordonandthewhale.com/rufus-sewell-set-for-villain-role-in-abraham-lincoln-vampire-hunter/Rufus Sewell set for villain role in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER Kate Erbland by: Kate Erbland April 12th, 2011 In "hey, this sounds kinda cool" casting news, Variety is exclusively reporting that Rufus Sewell has been cast as the main vamp in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. He will, obviously, be hunted down by our 16th president. Because that is something that happened. Historically. In our country. Whatever. Sewell (DARK CITY, A KNIGHT'S TALE, THE TOURIST) will be playing the character of Adam, and he joins young Benjamin Walker as the titular vampire-hunting prez. The rest of the, admittedly impressive, cast includes Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson, Alan Tudyk, and Robin McLeavy. Sewell is a good pick for a baddie, having played one pretty consistently throughout his career (even in the rom-com variety, see his chilling work in THE HOLIDAY). The film will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (WANTED). The script comes from Seth Grahame-Smith's novel of the same name, with the author also doing scriptwriting duties. Grahame-Smith is the author to thank (?) for his clever rewrites of classic novels and stories that interject them with supernatural elements (his Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is also going the big screen route soon). The film will open on June 22, 2012.
