Hello all, Rufus told me yesterday that he found out about the Paradise Lost "delay" about the same time as the rest of us. He is happy, however, at this point in time, as he has a four-day filming of a cameo role in Tom Stoppard's "Parade's End". Here is a little blurb from the LA Times explaining the mini-series: From "Band of Brothers" to "The Pacific," HBO knows its epic battles, and it's continuing that focus with "Parade's End," a five-part miniseries set during World War I, written by Tom Stoppard ("Shakespeare In Love"), and starring British actors Benedict Cumberbatch (of the BBC's "Sherlock") and Rebecca Hall ("Vicky Christina Barcelona"). Directed by Susanna White, who got an Emmy for another HBO war drama, "Generation Kill," the series is based four books by novelist Ford Madox Ford that were published during the 1920s. The story follows a love triangle among a conservative English aristocrat (Cumberbatch), his wife (Hall), and a young suffragette. Production on "Parade's End" is scheduled to begin in the fall. -- Melissa MaerzATTAM has wrapped, as you probably know. Now it's this bit and unemployment until something else comes up. I know you sleuths out there will dig up good stuff on Parade's End. I must get to work! Cheers! Rai ;D

Woo-hoo! Thanks for providing good news again, rai! The perfect thing to brighten this boooooring and rainy day That sounds interesting. I've developed a penchant for WW I stories, I like Benedict Cumberbatch a lot, and if Rufus is in it, all the better! (And I'm probably the last person to realize that Tom Stoppard did the screenplay of "Shakespeare in Love" ) I found a little bit about the miniseries on the BBC website and on IMDB, although there's no mention of Rufus yet.

Thanks for the info, Rai! Fantastic news! And maybe Sir Tom and Rufus talked a little theater too.... That's exactly what I was thinking... I hope Sir Tom is struck once more by Rufus' acting brilliance and feels inspired to write his next play with our Ruf in mind!

(And I'm probably the last person to realize that Tom Stoppard did the screenplay of "Shakespeare in Love" ) Just wanted to add that Sir Tom Stoppard is arguably Britain's greatest living playwright (following the death of Sir Harold Pinter), so his high opinion of Rufus is even weightier than we might realise at first!
