I've watched HN twice now so can give my review. I loved it. I have to say I didn't know that I would after seeing the first trailer. I found it very easy watching. I don't know if it was classic "Noir" or not as I've never watched anything that was (as far as I know). I loved that it was different to everything else I've seen. All the actors were great. Rufus manages to make it look so effortless and natural - great job! I loved the way the story went back and forth, much in the way MMFD & L did. Loved the Petruchioesque bit Superb comic touches. SPOILERSSo funny watching Felix drunk in the corridor. The pillow talk and references to knocking someone over and then the ending. Plus the bit we never want and ALWAYS seem to get had me shouting NOOOOO not again at the TV. END OF SPOILERSAll in all a really well written, acted, filmed and put together movie. A great addition to my collection.

Glad it arrived and everyone is enjoying it. Time for me to watch it again. I think Rufus is a much better fit than Tom Roth. Yes, I would think that!

Hotel Noir is excellent.....have watched more than once already!! That disk will be well used in the future. As for the drunk scene....had a wonderful (albeit brief) conversation with Rufus about that when I saw him on 13th Feb. Such a fun guy and it's great to see him laughing. Although I don't do a very good impression of a drunk......unless I am slightly drunk (which rarely happens these days - getting way to old), Robela can vouch for me!!

Robela said you were party animal LTM...haha. I don't think I will ever be one of those. Are you sure it wasn't 'partly animal'. Yep HN is great, love the pillow talk...

As for the drunk scene....had a wonderful (albeit brief) conversation with Rufus about that when I saw him Me, too! I think that might be a favourite scene with several people. ;D

I've just been listening to a phone-in interview given by Sebastien Gutierrez on 8 January: gashouseradio.com/2013/01/r2ht-episode-3/His part starts from about 01:03:00, and he talks about HN and other films he's made. No mention of Rufus from him, but it's interesting to hear him talk about the process of getting indie films made in these economic times (e.g. everyone, cast and crew, getting the same salary) and how video-on-demand is where the money is, rather than from DVD sales, as previously. But don't despair! He also said that HN would be coming out on i-Tunes and Netflix ("in about a month" so that should have been happening already) and then on DVD after that - so anyone who didn't pledge under the Kickstarter project will get a chance to buy the film that way.....eventually! Interestingly, the original plan was for HN to be shown via Youtube, but when that went off the rails the script had already been written, so Sebastien decided to press on with making the film anyway. Luckily for us!

That interview webpage kept crashing on me (probably due to my settings or something), so thanks for the info about what SG said, GE2! He seems like he is very smart, adapting to the future of filmmaking. That's wonderful news that HN will be available for everyone soon! By the way, I've loved reading all the recent Rooftopper reviews of HN. Whether we agree or not, it's interesting to get everyone's perspective! I hope no one is still waiting for their dvd.

Excellent performance from Rufus as always, but the film for me a total disappointment.

I'm sorry you didn't like it, jamolivej. I liked it a lot, but you're not the only one here who was disappointed.... I hope at least you will enjoy Roofing through his scenes in the future.
