I don't actually deserve credit for this. It's what a (Rufus-adoring) friend of mine likes to call him.

Oh, great find, Nell! Really don't like the storyline, but it doesn't really matter, 'cause I'll watch it anyway!!

It looks like they are still working on the finance for this movie but Tom Konkle has given an update update Animus as a new updated production package and locations that have made the financing needed a more attractive investment now
I also like the sound of...... Rufus Sewell Lead Confirmed by LOINow I know there are a couple of others listed as "lead" but Rufus is at the top of the list. As he should be!
www.slated.com/films/30152/Edited to add - it looks like we have a dvd box already animusthemovie.com/It looks like someone had a pop at the movie before it even got made. Thomas Konkle gave a good response..... io9.com/hi-all-director-and-co-writer-thomas-konkle-here-i-ha-1509969195

Thanks, Nell - I flicked through the other replies on there, and it doesn't look like anyone's even acknowledged Tom Konkle's response. Good for him for standing up for his project, though. There are some not very nice comments about our guy there, but I did like one: Rufus Sewell can dominate me any day. Seth Starkadder can cletter my mommett as much as he likes. Just sayin'.
io9.com/are-we-ready-for-an-event-horizon-riff-with-more-impreg-1506679044/allLet's hope they get the funding sorted out soon (although I have to say, after Kickstarter's handling of that hacking incident and the time they left participants vulnerable, I'd be wary of doing that again) - a couple of the comments speculate if they've got Rufus on board as a means to attract funding. Let's hope that works!

Thanks for that additional info, Nell. I hope Konkle is sincere, because to be honest, the original description of the premise... Well, I hope you don't mind me quoting myself from way back when this started: It's this part of the description that gets to me, and not in a good way Sounds like someone's idea of a joke script, written by a teenage boy.... I don't think that storyline sounds so great. There are some not very nice comments about our guy there, but I did like one: Rufus Sewell can dominate me any day. Seth Starkadder can cletter my mommett as much as he likes. Just sayin'. Funny!

Exclusive : Sewell circling fun space thriller Animus
I read this post by Rueful. Yippee! I thought. then went on to read the article by Charlie Jane Anders. What an unpleasant sloppy piece of journalism. She quotes the synopsis of 'Animus' which describes the infected scientist as 'dominating and impregnating the women' She turns this into Dominated and raped . Sorry Ms Anders, impregnated and raped do not automatically have the same meaning. She goes on to assume that ' Rufus seems to gravitate to monstrous roles'. I have to ask how much of Rufus's work in a career of nearly twenty five years , she actually has seen, to make this statement. Again... Ms Anders choose to totally ignore Thomas Konkle's response. I was silly enough to begin to read the replies below the article but they began to be unnecessarily offensive so I gave up on them. By now,I was hot enough under the collar to start this rant post, when it came to me; How many long time Rooftoppers remember one interviewer's remark .... that Rufus could impregnate with a look ? And the long, varied, hilarious and often dirty discussion on the subject? P.S. I haven't forgiven Ms.Anders
