I love that they snapped Rufus up first before finalising the other parts. He'll draw everyone else in, I'm sure (I can imagine KH thinking "Ooh! Rufus??! Deal-clincher, I'm in!" ) I often looked at Futon Critic when EH was in development - they get good updates.

A bit more on the Katie Holmes character: The series will be set in modern-day New York City. It will feature Katie Holmes as Ann, a woman of education and breeding, who has never used those advantages for power over others. She also runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband Phillip, who will be played by Rufus Sewell.
No, I think that is a mistake in the text. The project is based on Dangerous Liaisons, so Ann's husband can't be Philip! (Ann is Madame de Tourvel in the novel.) This must be the right description: Ann runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband. When Philip (Rufus Sewell) and Margot (still uncast) make a bet and destroy Ann’s perfect marriage, Ann learns to play the game and becomes the ultimate match for Philip. The philanthropic foundation is a sure sign.

Phillip sounds like a very interesting character so I can see why Rufus would accept the role. But can Rufus ever be cast as the loving spouse who takes his kids to little league practice? Not much of a story there I guess..haha.

Should we take a go at it? But this project does sound more and more intriguing. And am I the only one who thinks Katie Holmes would be perfect as the naive Ann? I think that young woman has depths we haven't seen yet. Can't wait to see who they cast as Margot.

are there OTHER MEN in that series, or is it just rufus and a harem? I'm confused. Are there OTHER MEN anywhere? Don't they cease to exist once you catch Rufusitis? LOL (sorry Mr BB! )

not sure about daphne rubin-vega. the project is not mentioned on her IMDB page. I wouldn't set too much store by that, Tip - a lot of the content on IMDB is user-submitted (see the Update section at the bottom of a person's profile page - it's very laborious process, mind).
Plus, it's not on Rufus's or KH's yet, either!
And I'm quite happy with Rufus and a harem.....oh, but that's The Rooftop, isn't it?
