Yes! I used to be a very good girl. At some point. I think it's the naughty Canadian influence around here.

yeah, right. always blame it on the canadians. well, this is not "tipou's message board", so blame the green-eyed guy instead. apparently he sneaks in anyway, so he can apologize.

That's because it's like pointing a finger at a sibling.
If he did that, I'd promise never to... never mind, I think that's how this whole debate got started in the first place.

There is one swordsman who would intimidate me, but I'm willing to risk it.

Vittoria, do the words, "chair," "kneeling," and "fruit" mean anything to you? I don't think I need to say anything more.
To get myself back on topic, I discussed in the Members thread how I came very late to the Rufus party after seeing interview clips of him on the CBS website. So the very first thing that drew me was his own very charming personality (well, maybe looks a bit too). His intelligence and humor just shone through, and to me those are absolutely 2 of the top 3 most important things (the 3rd being normal human kindness, which he also seems to have). This was before I even had an inkling of his talent--he just seemed like a guy I'd like to find out more about, which I did through a lot of internet searching, and soon I was floored by his acting abilities. It's just a pleasure to watch and analyze his subtle characterizations and admire how he can make any character, even underwritten ones, so human. The physical beauty, which I realize I go on and on about sometimes, is just a tremendous, smile-inducing bonus.

i think most of us are known to ramble on about his looks also. i know i have. rambled AND drooled (i even discussed the drooling). but we fool no one, we would not be here for his looks only. we are all movie buffs, and we know a good actor when we see one. and that is ONE GREAT ACTOR, and he would be if he looked like a potato (let's not start the potato debate please). the fact that he is so easy on the eye is one terrific bonus.

that is usually a comparison i reserve for james franco's acting abilities (or lack thereof). last time i used it, i was accused of cruelty towards vegetables. i think the mighty potato may however appreciate to be present in a paragraph that also contains the mention of rufus, so we can be friends again (me and the potato).
thank you for the compliment, altough previous paragraph may make you regret those words.

Speaking of potatoes and great actors and why we love Rufus, the other night I happened to be flipping channels and landed momentarily on PBS, and Charles Laughton was on the screen. He had me in an instant, and I was transfixed in my chair for the rest of the movie, which turned out to be 'Witness for the Prosecution'. Now I suppose one could say that Charles Laughton looked more like a potato than any other actor, but looks are simply irrelevant when that kind of talent and skill is involved. Which is a long way of seconding what tipou said, none of us would be here on Roof's looks alone. It's what he does on the screen (or stage) that has us acting like loonies.

lizap, thank you for your courageous comment. i appreciate that you should get further proof, instead of just opening the door to more potato upheaval, like rueful did. be very prudent, though. potatoes are against you, now.

ROFLMAO! Lizap, you need not fear the wrath of potatoes, because here is the difference between your comparison and Tipou's: You compared the potato with Charles Laughton, a man of immense talent (and indeed an extremely lumpy appearance, sort of a potato that's sprouted), thus raising the status of the often unappreciated vegetable. Tipou compared the potato with James Franco. Enough said. Sorry, I must have imagined all your previous posts.
