Shoot 'em Up - don't bother - don't waste your $$$, it's of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. LOL. I really liked it and I'm not even an action movies fan at ALL. I found it very entertaining and funny. And the there is the luscious Clive Owen! (*drool, slurp, slurp*) Sorry Rufus, but Clive is REALLY my type.

hahaha! It really is unbelievable how one person can dislike something so much and yet another like it just as much - yet totally agree on other things. I love Clive Owen but I'm getting awful tired of him playing the dark, brooding type in every film. I enjoy his early stuff so much more!

Me,too...the blond Clive in Croupier was much quirkier...it was that one where he was blond, wasn't it?

I thought it was huge fun and I laughed through most of it. But then I like Chinese action films which it is clearly a tribute to. There is a 12 year old boy lurking inside me somewhere.

Me,too...the blond Clive in Croupier was much quirkier...it was that one where he was blond, wasn't it? Yup, although I think he just has the blonde hair for 10-15 minutes into the film. That's the first movie I remember seeing him in and I was so glad when he went back to natural color in the film. LOL.

You've got to be kidding? You amaze me Maxx! lol! You wouldn't be the first person to say that. Actually I'm pretty much the same about everything. If it's a good example of what it is, if it's well-done and doesn't insult my intelligence by assuming I'll pay money to see anything, I generally tend to at least give it my attention. Shoot 'em up wasn't pretending to be anything but an homage to Chinese action films and it did a splendid job with great wit, humor and a wink, wink, nudge, nudge. ;D It's a genre I like so I had fun. That doesn't mean I'm going to tell you it was the best picture of the year. Just that I enjoyed it. For whatever that's worth.

Bedrooms and Hallways-- I think this has been mentioned previously, but what a sweet film. No one does gay sex romps like the Brits. Come to think of it, no one does gay sex romps but the Brits An entirely different role for Kevin McKidd. He's sweet and funny and bumbling. And I even like James Purefoy, something I thought would never be accomplished. Also featured are Hugo Weaving, Jennifer Ehle, and Tom Hollander. It's fun. It's light hearted. It'll make you smile. Tom Hollander is almost as funny as he was in Land of the Blind.

I didn't like this movie much as a MOVIE, but I really like all of the cast and did enjoy seeing Kevin McKidd in a totally different kind of part than the angsty guy I'm used to seeing him play. Oh yeah, and a movie with James Pur sexfoy is scenery is never a bad thing in my book.

I didn't like this movie much as a MOVIE, really? Why is that? It's a great representive of it's genre. I thought it was tight, funny, touching and sweet... a complete confection with an absolutely absurd ending. Perhaps my affinity for Kevin McKidd is blinding me in some way but I smiled through most of it.

I'm not a fan of Romantic Comedies and there have only ever been 2 of them that I ever liked and Tom Hollander was in both of them, the other one was Martha Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence.

I hate American romcoms. They are always so trite and predictable and 'happily ever after' makes me ill.
But the Brits and the Australians usually come up with something different. I'm thinking of an Australian film with David Wenham called Better than Sex which was great fun.

really? Why is that? It's a great representive of it's genre. I thought it was tight, funny, touching and sweet... a complete confection with an absolutely absurd ending. I dunno, the male bonding stuff just fell flat for me and the filmakers didn't seem to be able to achieve the kind of tone they were going for. I just found those scenes tedious. Perhaps! I hate American romcoms. They are always so trite and predictable and 'happily ever after' makes me ill. And most are just plain BORING! We've fallen very far indeed from the Romcoms of the 30's and 40's, that's for sure. I still love the genre, but not most of what's come out lately. I totally agree. There is a wit and charm still in Brit/Aussie romcoms that is sorely missing in most American romcoms these days. The last romcom I remember really liking was Love Actually, which of course, was done by our friends the Brits. I also enjoyed The Holiday, but a telling note was that after watching it a few times, it started to lose some of its charm. Never a good sign with a romcom, which IMHO should always put a smile on your face no matter how many times you watch it. ;D God, the last good Amer romcom I remember were Sleepless in Seatlte and When Harry Met Sally! Wait, I lied. If I look at the below list, I liked a couple. www.boxofficemojo.com/genres/chart/?id=romanticcomedy.htm I loved Kate & Leopold (of which I am in a small minority.) Something's Gotta Give was pretty good. Two Weeks Notice was kind of cute. While You Were Sleeping, Clueless, Never Been Kissed & The American President I do remember enjoying. Oh yeah, IMHO Moonstruck is probably the best Amer romcom in the last 40 years. All of the others I like on this list were made over a decade ago or were made by Brits. LOL. I not only want my money back for the rentals on Must Love Dogs and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, I want them to pay me for the time I wasted on those two turkeys. LOL. Oh yeah, and did anybody else find certain aspects of 50 First Dates just too creepy to be able to get over? Bleh.

I'm a big fan of French Kiss, have to see it at least once a year. Helps that Kevin Kline and Meg Ryan are so funny together, and its set in France.
