Hey Pitzel, I too watch more cable TV than network primetime...maybe when CSI, Survivor and Amazing Race come back. I love Raising the Bar...Nick Balco is just sexy and Roz is the sheeit. Have you seen HawthoRNe or Dark Blue? TNT is really good with their shows. Wanted to watch Saving Grace when it first came out...just never did, and now it's too late. Another one I am looking forward to coming back is Southland. Same writers as ER. You can tell too.
My buddy is a total True Blood fanatic. I watched the first couple of EP's..I wasn't really drawn in though. The blond chick just makes me want to gag for some reason.

I am TOTALLY hooked into True Blood! It's just such campy, sexy, bloody fun! I had read the books a couple of years ago and thought they were funny and sexy and very entertaining. So when HBO came out with the TV version I had too watch it. Anna Paquin (the one you gag over!) is probably the weakest link in the whole show. I agree with you there! Season 2 is better than the first season I think. Mostly because this luscious hunk of Swedish goodness plays a much bigger role: PIC DELETEDAlexander Skarsgard, who plays vampire Eric Northman

HI DGD Hope all is well out your way. I don't watch True Blood since I don't pay for HBO or Showtime. I did start to watch a BBC America show called Being Human. It's about a Ghost, Vampire and Werewolf who try to live among us humans. Some interesting story lines there. I think Torchwood Children of Earth was the best offering on BBC America this summer. Wonder if they will do another series of Torchwood in the future? PS judypatooty: He is a hotty! Pitzel

Anybody here a fan of Life on Mars (UK)? I just finished the first series and can't wait for Series 2 to be released in November!
Has anyone seen Ashes to Ashes? I haven't (yet) but would love to hear any comments.

Hi Pen I only saw the last episode of Life on Mars which was telecast here on BBC America as a prelude to Ashes to Ashes. Since Ashes to Ashes is a sequel to Life on Mars, it was good that I saw that episode before watching the Ashes to Ashes series so I could follow it better. Even though I know how Life on Mars ended, I would someday like to watch the whole series. Ashes to Ashes was great, I enjoyed it very much. I love Keely Hawes and Philip Glenister. I hope BBC America will show thw second season of Ashes to Ashes this fall if there will be one. Pitzel

Thanks, Pitzel! Ashes to Ashes sounds good! No word yet on a DVD release, though I'm keeping an eye out for it. Life on Mars Series 2 will be released on November 24th. Maybe Ashes to Ashes won't be far behind ( ). Pen Pen

Thank you Pen. I don't have the money right now to purchase any DVD's so I just hope BBC America will broadcast both shows. Anyway Ashes to Ashes was really good and I was able to follow it pretty well. Sometimes even English words go over my head, especially if they are colloquialisms. I can't tell you much about the plot of the show here, don't want to spoil it but I am sure you'll like it.
Happy viewing Pitzel

Pitzel, feel free to PM me if you want an explanation of any of the slang! Thanks for the offer. I will need to keep a pen and paper handy next time I watch a BBC production so I'll be able to give you a list of things I don't understand. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now. Thanks again Pitzel

Yes John Barrowman is very charismatic and seems like a quite likable man in real life. I thought Eve Myles was very good in that production, only seeing her before in that small role in Little Dorrit. I know there are many wonderful BBC productions out there, I only wish BBC America would show us Yanks some of the better ones. I read somewhere that Hotel Babylon was going to be broadcast on BBC America, but it didn't happen. They seem to show mostly reality and SciFi, where are the good dramas? Sorry to rant but I did e-mail BBC America with my complaint. Maybe it will do some good. In the meantime I am enjoying Ashes to Ashes and Torchwood. Don't care for Dr. Who, and Robin Hood is somewhat convoluted, even with the action scenes, I find it boring. Enjoy your week end. Pitzel

Hi pitzel Yes, Eve Myles is very good , she has been around for a little while now but has been seen mostly on BBC Wales as welsh is her !st language . Yes Robin Hood is dreadful but it is shown here on Sat at 5-6 p.m spot so may be is considered for youngsters. Have you seen Life on Mars ,prequel to Ashes to Ashes? Have you seen " the State Within "& " State of Play"both made by BBC , a bit old now but excellent .I believe they have filmed SoP : recently with Russell Crowe but grab the Beeb version if you can Frannie

Francesca Sadly I haven't seen those shows you mentioned. I am a late comer to cable and just saw Ashes to Ashes on the BBC America this year. Perhaps if those shows are on DVD I can get a hold of them. Thanks for your input.
