I prefer the gray and the miles. "Pretty" isn't really my thing. I prefer non-baby Ruf as well! (I don't know what to call him - older Ruf? Ruf with higher mileage? A well-aged Ruf? ) Baby Ruf makes me "Awwwww" but he doesn't make me think naughty thoughts. ;D

I also like the new avatar, etherealtb!
To the business at hand: My favorites from Uke's list of early works are: Middlemarch, Cold Comfort Farm, and Gone to Seed.

Here is the list I have so far:
Gone to Seed A Man of No Importance Twenty One Carrington Cold Comfort Farm Middlemarch
is that going to do it or does someone want to add something? If we're done we can go on to picking scenes.

Welll I vote for Victory because it has some great scenes in it and Rufus looks great... OTOH, Dirty Weekend is much more Baby Roof.

I love Rufe in Dirty Weekend, even though the film itself is a monumental pile of cack. His performance is creepy in the extreme, yet vulnerable. The tension of his performance, especially when he is on the phone to that daft bint, is so real it's almost tangible. I also love the scene in Old Steine, on the park bench. He has so much nervous energy, it's like his head is full of little cogs and wheels whizzing round and round. I think I'd vote for Tim as the Baby Rufe COTM.

well that's eight:
Gone to Seed A Man of No Importance Twenty One Carrington Cold Comfort Farm Middlemarch Victory Dirty Weekend
Do we want to change any of them or should we go for this list and start picking scenes?
We have lots of time on this one, for a change...
