Done?!! I was in bed asleep between 3.26 and 3.56. *pouts* I'd found two for GTS.... No I don't mean done that way. I mean done as in I've updated with Uke's request. Let's hear what you've got.

Well, they are both from the second episode. The first scene is near the start, when Billy breezes up at the football match (after he's taken the £80K and gone to the US) like nothing's wrong, with the "well, I've been, and I'm back. I'm back, and I'm baaaadder than before" comment. He couldn't get away with that now - it'd sound cheesy, but he had the youth to do it then. And I like the look on his face when he tries to wheedle out of explaining exactly when Hilda will get the money back - even I would have punched him!
And the second one is towards the end of the episode (but it's intercut with other scenes) - it's when Billy turns up at the Singalongathon while Hilda is singing. He looks so remorseful, and so guilty, and likes he's just on the edge of apologising when Hilda runs after Miss Pringle - he looks almost hurt that she hasn't put him first (for once).....and then there's the misunderstanding about her age, and any feeling he had seems to evaporate. It's the first real indication that Billy really does have feelings for her, but he's just too immature to deal with it properly.
(By the by, why DO film-makers have to portray specs-wearing women as frumpy and unattractive? It's soooo annoying, that "men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses" mentality - it's not true, and it's derogatory. Regarding males, too - put a pair of specs on a boy/youth, and he's either a geek or pervy. It's only "acceptable" when A-list celebs wear them. Grrrr! Sorry - had to get that off my chest)
Back to Rufus: he is just so classically handsome in this - all chiselled features and charm and youth, and even though he doesn't have all the subtlety we see now, it was still a polished performance. I love it.

Dirty Weekend: Park Scene Middlemarch: As if I were not in danger of forgetting everything else. Victory: Knife through hand A Man of No Importance: pool playing scene. A Man of No Importance: Sandwich scene Carrington: Pool scene Carrington: Cross and drunk on the stairs Cold Comfort Farm: The sewing scene. Twenty One: Shooting up on the toilet in the pub scene Gone To Seed: Second football scene in Ep 2 when Billy comes back from his imaginary trip to America Gone To Seed: Billy visiting Hilda at the Sing-a-long to beg forgiveness Okay, that about it from everyone? Do we want to run 2 polls concurrently to catch all of these or whittle the list down to 8 choices? I love Rufus in GTS. He's so conflicted. It's really kind of fun to watch. I just plain like GTS. It always makes me smile. As to your glasses comment, have you forgotten Ross? Glasses seem to be quite trendy now in the US. I forego the contacts and wear mine quite often. Everyone says they make me look like an intellectual. I'm not quite sure how to take that.

As to your glasses comment, have you forgotten Ross? Nope - how could I, that's my second favourite character! But I wouldn't describe him as a boy or youth in that...
