A twisted little movie, also with Ewan McGregor is Shallow Grave, I think early 90's. Very offbeat and strange but worth seeing.

I've just seen it. Good movie even though I was waiting for a more positive resolving end.

I enjoyed watching THe Visitor the second time with the commentary on. Richard Jenkins and Thomas McCarthy added another filmmaking layer . And of course, I loved that it was shot in New York. The main actors gave tremendously engaging performances.

Dreamer, you didn't like the ending? I thought it was fantastic. The absurdity of it all and the extreme irony.
Hated the girl with the pearl earring, sorry, U am a huge fan of Colin Firth but the pace was unbearable, I'm like get on with it already. Paint the damned picture. ALso not a fan of Scarlett either, I find her incredibly boring with one exception, Match Point. Good little film.

tipou, I also liked Brassed Off. I love British and Irish movies in general, mostly because their actors look like real people and can actually act. Two little films I liked a lot were Local Hero (well, that was probably a US production, but set in Scotland) which was from the 1980s and Waking Ned Devine, which is probably from the 1990s. I just love those charming comedies set in tiny villages, where the villagers are smarter than outsiders give them credit for.
