I saw it..you are right it was creepy. Goran Visnijic is yummy though!! Just thought of another little movie I loved ....A Slipping Down Life, it stars Lili Taylor and Guy Pearce. www.imdb.com/title/tt0162662/It is a very quirky movie but I really enjoyed it for some reason. I love Lili Taylor and Guy Pearce is as always very good and a surprisingly good singer. The soundtrack is very good as well. If anyone else has seen it I would love to hear what you thought.

It sounds really familiar, I may have seen it but I don't remember it. Guy Pearce is uqite talented, did you see Priscilla Queen of the Desert? OMG, Terrence Stamp was fabulous as was Mr. Pearce. Sweet movie, they remade it with Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes (i think) amd John Leguizamo (I detest him) with a completely different title. It was awful. I'll have to put your choice on my netflix list. Thanks for the heads up.

I agree the remake kinda sucked. At one time I was a big Patrick Swayze fan and I was very disappointed. Does everyone remember Dirty Dancing??? (of course you do...weather you liked it or not!) Oh how I loved that movie. I had enjoyed Patrick in Red Dawn and The Outsiders also. But after Dirty Dancing I think the only good movie he made was of course Ghost. I feel so bad for him now. He is way to young to go yet. He is defiantly a fighter though!!

Yeah, it's sad, what a trooper. Dirty Dancing is a guilty pleasure of my mine. It's corny but sweet and it's still good. I just saw Ghost not too long ago, love him in that. He's got a positive attitude about his current situation. and I hope he pulls through.
Have you seen Shall We Dance? With Stanley Tucci, J-Lo and Richard Gere? I don't think it did well comercially but I liked it a whole lot. J-LO contrary to what her detractors say was good. I don't think she's a bad actress at all. She was also in a movie called The Cell, along with Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Onofrio. It's beautifully filmd and very surreal. Strange little film but good.

I enjoyed 'Shall We Dance'. I recall appreciating that for once, they cast an actress of the appropriate age (Susan Sarandon, if I recall correctly) as Gere's wife. And Tucci was great! But your post reminded me that the original of this film (Japanese) got rave reviews, so I think I will put that on my 'to see' list.

The remake was good but not as good. Loved Tucci though!! This also reminds me of a German movie called Mostly Martha (american title) or Bella Martha www.imdb.com/title/tt0246772/No Reservations was the remake but the original was sooooo much better. Get it if you can...Mostly Martha!!!

Lizap,
I saw the original Japanese version as well, it was lovely. And yes your comment about Sarandon was spot on. It was nice for a change. Have you seen "Strictly Ballroom"? It's an Aussie film and well worth seeking out.

'Strictly Ballroom'! I love that movie! It is so funny and whimsical.
And I'll add 'Sunshine' to the list. I found it so moving, and I thought those depictions of the sun were stunning.

I loved Strictly Ballroom too. Saw it a few times in the theater. It was so sweet and sooo funny. Baz Luhrmann makes such beautiful films. I am sorry I missed Australia in the theater but I am looking forward to seeing it. That is defiantly not a little film.. lizap you mentioned Sunshine. The one with Ralph Fiennes?

lizap you mentioned Sunshine. The one with Ralph Fiennes? No, robbie, I was thinking of the Danny Boyle film of a couple of years ago, with Rose Byrne and Cillian Murphy. I thought of it for days after seeing it; the images really stayed with me. www.imdb.com/title/tt0448134/

Bought the movie Secretariat on dvd the other day. I was upset I never saw it on the big screen where I am sure it would have been better. Enjoyed it! Had to add it to my collection because I love horses, and have several pics of this special horse in my home. Alot of it was filmed in KY and my city. The Belmont race was filmed at our local race track (Keeneland). Diane Lane was good in it. I was a nervous wreck watching it and I even knew how it ended! Not used to watching many non-Rufus movies lately..kept thinking he would appear..haha.

Some all-time favourites of mine: "Dead Poets Society" and "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café".
I also love those little heartwarming French films like "Amélie Poulain".
