Some all-time favourites of mine: "Dead Poets Society" and "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café". I also love those little heartwarming French films like "Amélie Poulain". Oh KMK, I love them too....specially FGT Have you seen Audrey in A Very Long Engagement? I like that one as well as her Coco before Chanel.

"Brassed Off" is on my wanna-see list, thanks for reminding me, Frannie
sewellme, I haven't seen A Very Long Engagement nor the Chanel film, but I loved her also in a little movie called "He Loves Me, He Loves me Not" (A la folie ... pas du tout is the original title).

OMG, I almost forgot that one! Yes I did see it (love my sundance channel can't live without it!!!). I do love that one too and the ending I think was superb, when that guy moved the cabinet I was like "Oh no way!!!" I thought she didn't swallow the pills and wonder where it'd gone. Smart and dangerous...quite a combo!!! ...and I make Brassed Off on my list too! Thank you Frannie

That was indeed an incredible ending. I loved the double twist the plot took, and her superb acting. Never would have thought this sweet-faced girl had all that in her.

Not a film but didnt want to start a new thread on it. Has anyone been watching The Killing on AMC. Its based on a Dutch series. The entire season is one case they are trying to solve. I am a little hooked on it. Just when I think I know "who done it", something else turns up!

I like that sort of.....you've really got to think about it type plot. A film that I saw recently was - Hachi: A Dog's Tale with Richard Gere (incidently, he was not the dog!!) Fantastic if you like dogs and based on a true story.

Some movies I really love that hardly anyone has ever heard of:
Music Within (about the creation of the Americans with Disablities Act...I know, it sounds really boring, but it's not. Stars Ron Livingston from Band of Brothers and Office Space)
Lars and the Real Girl (with Ryan Gosling....too weird to try and explain. If anyone else here has seen it, let me know if you liked it like I did.)
A Midnight Clear...this movie is older. Stars Gary Sinise (who I love) Ethan Hawke, Peter Berg, Kevin Dillon, Frank Whalley...It's a "war movie", but it's not like most war movies...a really terrific film.

These all sound interesting, rumantic! Will keep my eyes open for them.
I've liked Gary Sinise, too, since I first saw him in "Forrest Gump".

Yeah...I really loved Forrest Gump, don't get me wrong, (in fact, I saw it in the theater the day it opened, and I still own, and wear, my original BubbaGump Shrimp Co. t-shirt), but the movie was at it's best at the parts with Lieutenant Dan in them.
Too bad I hate CSI New York....

Say a prayer for me. The next Twilight movie is out in a week. My daughter is in planning mode. We have seen them all together so I cant get out of it. Hopefully we wont have to go at midnight and I wont have to wear a vampire shirt or team Edward shirt.

Eek - I hope it won't get too bad for you, kygal! I've never come to understand that Twilight hype. I don't even know how many of the books have been filmed by now (is this the third or the fourth movie we're talking about?)
