Ooooh, you've got it bad, barbicanbelle. ;D I listened to it again for the first time in a while and I can never fully grasp the story no matter how hard I try....Don't even get me started on the breathing. LOL! Speaking of having it bad, Meg! For anyone else like me who is unable to process information while listening to this recording, GE2 very kindly posted the script back on page 2 of this thread. Here's a link to the page. www.rufussewell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=work&action=display&thread=854&page=2

The swallowing thing is also in TOTS - the scene when they are lying in bed the morning after and talking about him being always right. It felt to me like I was witnessing a too private moment, kind of like watching something I was not supposed to see. Just from hearing him swallow. Can it get any weirder?

Today I had my iPod on while I was outside working. I was mowing, and my mower ran out of gas, so I was stomping over to get the gas can so I could go get more gas and not really paying attention to what was playing in my ears. Then all of a sudden I heard Rufus say..."I dream about you..." and I swear I almost went to my knees mid-stride with the gas can! LOL! I tried to keep listening but I couldn't MOVE while listening to it, so I had to switch it off.
Definitely need to be sitting down (or preferably LYING down) to listen to that one.

Oh my gosh, I love you guys!! rueful: All I've learned from listening is that Nick is a flower (which I actually read elsewhere) and that he can't sleep (which is obviously in the title). That's pretty much all I've gotten and I've listened to it umpteen times, so thanks for the link! Very much appreciated! I always need some sort of visual aid when Rufus is concerned ;D alyeska: my thoughts exactly! gretchenpc: Good lord, you're brave! I've never listened to Rufus while mowing the lawn for fear of mowing my way to China (I hit repeat a lot )

I listed to it last week (or the week before?) and I could not work out what they were talking about either. Listened twice. Didn't understand more. It makes me feel like on a hot summer night, crickets chirping and all. I was mightly glad when the text was posted!

I daresay no one really understood this piece immediately (actually I'm still not quite sure if I do now) - but I absolutely love the atmosphere created. To say nothing of a certain sexy voice.

NICK SILVER: I want to blow a smoke ring around your long skinny neck. I want to knock you out with my scent; cut loose to the woods where no one can find us. You could clamour around me, take hold and strangle me, tackle me down to the ground. I’d never fight it - I wouldn’t know how. I want to lose myself to you. I want to be yours. Please, just one night. Like my own private planet – orbit round me tonight. I can't get over the Silver Sewell ! .... Not sure I've seen a link to the Artangel site, you might want to check it out: www.artangel.org.uk/projects/2006/nick_silver_can_t_sleep/project_contentsI wonder who had the magnificent idea of casting Rufus as Nick?

(And how fitting that he's the only truly male plant in the cast ;D )

kissmekate, you wrote he's the only truly male plant in the cast It says on artangel.org.uk/projects/2006/nick_silver_can_t_sleep that Nick Silver is Nicotiana sylvestris, and Cereus Grand is Selenicereus grandiflorus. I was sooo curious about how the plants themselves looked like... Maybe you've already known, but in any case... Here they are Nicotiana sylvestrisNicotiana has nice colour varieties too...and this is Selenicereus grandiflorus

OMG!!! you can hear him breathe ............................ Barbicanbelle, this may border on the creepy side, but if you want to hear a bit of sexy Rufus heavy breathing check out this upload of a deleted scene from A Knight's Tale. It's at the beginning. Victorygirl posted it in a related thread a while back. You might not have seen it: youtu.be/S_jgDIfxvyc
