See the "I just" thread for a description of one of my prior jobs. I am well equipped to make you forget you were ever irked with me.

Ok here are a few more things that irk me..
People who step onto the elevator/bus/subway before the disembarking passengers get off. Or with elevators...people that crowd in front of it so that when you are getting off, you have to weave around them...c'mon people....
Now this is a big one...I was just reading over some old posts on my leagues forum. One of the chicks in the league is a wife of a Navy Officer. Now this would be enough for me to be weary of her, I have a pretty serious aversion to officers and their spouses...especially the spouses. But she just had to give me yet another reason to not like her...well two really.
First...she brought her friggin kid to practice the other day. I go to derby to escape screaming kids...and she had this damn kid in a stroller screaming the entire practice and she thought it was "cute". I tried rolling it around the rink to calm it down...no luck, I feel like I'm the only one who is annoyed by kids in the league...Some of them are okay, a few of the skaters bring their kids and they just play at the arcade games that are next to the rink...you hardly even remember they are there. That's fine...but why would you bring your bratty kid to the rink at like 9 pm? Shouldn't the kid be in bed? No wonder he was screaming the whole time.
Second? She posted a messege on the board that she was getting rid of her two cats because they "got sick of changing the litter". Then when my buddy posted helpful hints to make changing the litter easier, she came back with her real reason. She had a kid so they didn't feel like they had time for the cats...c'mon. Officers wife...she doesn't work oustide the home..unless you count her "Murder Mystery Party" endeavor, she's got enough money to not have to worry about anything, and she only has one kid (a healthy kid mind you). I'm sorry I have no tolerance for people that adopt a pet and then later get rid of it because it's not convenient. Especially people that get rid of their cat because they have a kid, believing the cat is gonna harm the kid, or since they devote every waking moment to the kid, coddling it to the point of being destructive, they feel the need to boot the cat out.
Stupidity. You adopt a pet, you accept responsibilty for that life until it dies, just like with a kid.
Seriously pisses me off.

I have to comment on the subway theme, I take the subway all the time and NY'ers get the reputation as rude, so far from the truth, people will wait and keep to one side while people are exiting the train. This isn't a one time phenomenon either it happens all the time, so this is a rave for me and for all NY'ers.

Hmmm, the Derby Girl vs the New Yorker: Who's going to win the throwdown?
More importantly, who gets to keep custody of Rufus while they're in the midst of mortal combat? I think that would be the peace-loving, rational Rueful!

just when i was wondering where you were, rueful.
i guess we could argue that "custody" might be shared. i am free this coming week end, btw.

I've had a sadly busy couple of days. Booooo, for work interfering with Rufus time.
I refuse to argue, as that would contradict my claims to "peace-loving." Instead, I'll suggest that you take custody of Rufus whenever he's in Canada, and I'll take custody when he's here in the States.

I WAS busy. I would give Rufus all the attention he deserves and then some. And no fair trying to win points by using French.
